I'll go with the brand LG , LG 42LW550T is a good choice. The picture quality with 3D is comfortable and engaging to watch.

I recently picked up Sony's HX850 in a 46" inch, and I was blown away by the picture quality, it's a step down from the HX950, but well worth the $1600 I paid for it. Surprisingly it has decent sound, I have Panasonic and Toshiba HDTV's as well, and this one sounds amazing when compared to the other two.

I love my Sony still. HOWEVER.....I have to say, I was in Wal-mart late last night and I saw a 2013 LG 47" 3D on display. Beautiful picture and it was less than $800. I may pick this one up later in the year as a secondary set for my HD TV channel viewing and Apple TV.

It was a "LA6200" model. Never herd or seen this particular model before.
My mancave:

Such a shame the W802a has such horrible black levels. Picked one up at launch since I have been looking for a passive 3D TV and was sick of trying LG after LG with the bleeding or banding being too bad to accept (And the Toshiba was just an all around joke). The 3D is good, the PQ is good, the colors are good, the Sony interface is much better but the black levels just totally kill the TV for me so it is going back too. Have honestly never owned a TV with such bad black levels and that includes cheap crappy sets I have purchased for other rooms where the TV isn't used much. Uses an LG panel and obviously wasn't going to have the blacks of the HX850 but the blacks are not even close to the LM7600 I got sick of trying to find a good set with. Better black levels and I would have loved this set so much. Amazing how one thing can downgrade a TV so much.

Haya,

It dont even have the black levels of the Sony HX750 which are very very good in my opinion. It is indeed sad to hear that the black levels of the W802 are not good because this tv was supposed to be the replacement for the HX750 and it was supposed to be better in black levels and PQ. To see and hear that it isnt is sad and a step down for Sony.

I'm surprised that people haven't mentioned the Sharp Aquos Quattron series? I absolutely love mine....

Usually Sharp is at the top of the pile in reviews ranging from;

Consumer Reports
Crutchfield
Digital Trends
PC Magazine

Don't take my word for it. Just read the customer reviews on Amazon, Best Buy and other sites that carry the Sharp line.

I just ordered a 60" LG LA6200 Direct Lit LED 3D from amazon. This will be my first LG and LED tv after having a Samsung DLP for 5 years that finally bit the dust after lots of issues. Done with buying Samsung. Hoping this will meet expectations.
