BDs are also a lot more robust than DVDs with their anti-scratch coating.
Not to mention the deleted scene integration. I found that pretty bad on the DVDs. On the blu rays, it is great.

Yes, I know, I've seen the difference, and like I said, to me, it's "negligible":
Here, I'll define it for you:
"so small or unimportant as to be not worth considering; insignificant."

I hate the DVD cases because I hate digipacks. Give me a plastic case I can replace if something happens any day over a cardboard case that is bound to not last the test of time.

To some people the taste of the finest filet mignon is "negligible" over a burger at McDonald's.

Nah, the worst season (pre-season 20, that is) is season 15. The only two episodes that are remotely decent are "Tis the Fifteenth Season" and "Diatribe of a Mad Housewife".

The worst season is 17 and then 24.

I found the DVDs video quality unwatchable after watching the upscaled BDs. The differences are huge, far away from negligible to me. Maybe ignorance is a bliss to some, but unfortunately I can see a huge difference.

Hey, I have a question for you guys regarding the DVDs of the older seasons. For some reason it seems like the video flickers at times around edges and stuff and I don't remember it being that way when I watched the discs years ago. Do any of you know what the problem is and how I fix that?

Player may not be playing back the episodes in "video" mode. It's probably trying to play back in progressive mode. (Removing 3/2) When the early seasons were authored, it wasn't possible. The shows were edited on video and did not have a consistent 3/2 pull down to work from.

I actually saw attempts to fix this Fox years ago, but it's just not possible.

I think he's talking about watching it interlaced, as opposed to forcing it progressive.

How do I do that? I've never even heard of anything like that before. Is that a setting on my TV? On the PS3?

IIRC it's called BD/DVD Cinema Conversion under your Video Settings. Instead of automatic I believe you need to set it to Video.

Target has the DVD's on sale, yesterday and today, for $14.99. I just picked it up online, since the story didn't have any in stock. Had a $10 gift card, so I paid about $9 for it. It's the molded head DVD set I wanted anyway. Not a bad buy, since I don't recall anything from this season.
