Got the blue-covered edition for $8 at BB (pming Target.com) during BF week. Still haven't watched it, nor have I had any kids over to compell me to put it on even more, but I certainly rememer the day my mom and I were in WM and she bought me the VHS when it came out of the vault (or whatever the occasion was...maybe first time on VHS). This is a childhood favorite, as are many of Disney's animated library.

Once I ended up with an unneeded slipcover (after I sold the movie without it by accident) to a movie that I knew was no longer shipping with a slipcover. I actually took the extra slipcover back to the store and put it on one of the movies there so someone who needed it could hopefully get it. It wasn't a rare or in demand slip so it wasn't worth the hassle of selling or trading it so it just seemed like the most reasonable thing to do with it.

there are enough slipcover collectors that its a waste to just bin them. Especially the Disney ones. I've sold on The Avengers, Finding Nemo and Brave slips/cases to fellow collectors on here for a profit of about a tenner (for all 3, after posting and 2 included the DC's as well) after ending up with the ameray and metal pack's. It doesnt take more than several mins to package and ship them and often you can ask for a few quid per slip (I've even purchased a missing slip myself for £3 and seen many other go for around the same price which is more than fair IMO.) Plus your helping out fellow collectors which is always satisfying. I actually shudder a little when I hear of people chucking slips away. There will always be someone who would want it and many who are happy to pay a few quid for them. So either give them away or sell them on - I remember a time when a UK Dumbo slip sold for £15-£20 (if I recall correctly) which is the price of another blu-ray. Then you could always argue the recycling point - pass them on instead of adding more rubbish in bin's

Honestly, if people want to toss them, let em. I get the "collectors value" aspect of it all, but no one is under any obligation to keep something just because someone in the world might want it somewhere down the line.

Regardless, chucking an unwanted case or slip in the bin is a waste no mater how you look at it.
Either keep it or pass it on. Owing to the fact you could make a couple of quid by selling them on, it would be extremely stupid not too take advantage. I get that some people like collecting them and some don't, but there is really no need to simply bin anything.

For me? Because you are part of a community where you know folks collect them. So why not just put it on the slipcover exchange or trade thread. Saying you throw them away is just trying to stir the pot IMHO. I will say that if you are missing a slip Disney is pretty good about this and for postage they'll send you a replacement.
Do you really have something to say or are you just in love with the sound of your keyboard?

![]() I used to get rid of all slip covers except for Disney ones. I'll admit, they made my Disney Blu-Rays stand out more, but eventually I couldn't find some movies with them (I didn't care enough to check different stores for them), so I just decided to get rid of them. Sure, I could make a few bucks selling them, but I don't feel like it's worth the time.

I'm going to celebrate this by finally watching my copy that I got on BF week for $8. Haven't seen it since I was a kid.
