The benefit is that the 3D disc will be better than a conversion.

An actual 3D signal is native 2-channel video (left eye and right eye) the same way that a 2.0 stereo music signal is 2 separate audio channels... left and right.

In the same way that an actual 2.0 stereo audio signal will sound better than a 1.0 mono signal that gets processed to "fake" a 2.0 stereo effect, a native 3D (2.0) video signal will look better than a 2D (mono) video signal that's been processed to "fake" 3D.
LOSSLESS audio... something that belongs on EVERY Blu-ray Disc. Every one. Warner and Paramount: take a lesson.

If it's not 1.5 screen widths, it's not "Home Theater" -it's TV.

anyone ever question if amazon sometimes repackaged used blu-rays and sells them as new? sometimes i get my blu-ray with the outside package half falling off and today i got rise of the guardians without even any packaging just the blu-ray with it's slipcover and no plastic covering. (or do some blu-rays just come like this with no plastic wrapping? i don't think i've noticed it before. but maybe i just didn't even notice because i usually get like 3-4 in one shipment but this time it was one)

then on a couple i even noticed small scratches to the box, not anything immediately noticeable unless you really looked hard for it but it was there.

is all of this basically something you have to live with getting them shipped or do you think it's more of an amazon thing? the stuff i've received from bestbuy appeared better packaged so far (although it's a couple from best buy vs alot with amazon).

what's best is highly subjective.

personally i think you'll find that animation is a very fun/entertaining experience with 3d, alot of times i even prefer it to the non animation.
i'm feeling like recommending madagascar 3 as a good start.

then again it's currently 30+ dollars and was just on sale for $19.99 recently and so i'd probably wait for it to come back down in price.

it looks like you can get both the journey movies for $14.99 each from best buy which could be a solid choice.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Journey+...203d&lp=5&cp=1

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Journey+...203d&lp=6&cp=1

but i'd start reading through some of the threads below like "what has the best popouts, etc"

or read up on the reviews
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/search...tby=popularity

and if you have a family video store near you they actually have a good selection of 3d movies to rent, i found most of the known ones to rent there which enabled me to watch alot in a short time.
