Are there any plans on making 50GB discs(R and RE) available at more retailers(like Best Buy) anytime soon?

Or, making them available *ANYWHERE* in a more widespread fashion?

I would like to ask Rietek why this thread is still all sticky and everything of the such?

I only ask, because I was mildly intrigued as to what Rietek is, and why it was important enough to sticky, but not what I am looking for.... The Best adult-oriented, headset using TEAM on PS3! any firmware updates available for

MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ240AS external blu-ray burner.

i can't seem to find anything definitive.

I can play blu-rays, but when I insert a phillips bd-r 25GB disc, it spins, light blinks for about 30-45 seconds, then it kicks it out and won't recognize the disc.

tried multiple discs and nothing.

looks like others are having problems with this drive as well.

any ideas?

Unhappy Seems bluray aint all it is cracked up to be ...

hi there
I bought this Toshiba Satallite A665-11Z gaming Laptop with MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ240ES BD-RW to be able to back up all my data onto 25GB discs instead of numerous 4,7GB DVD's and its not working at all...
22 trashed BD-R discs later I have tried nero 11, Roxio, Cyberlink power2go, burnaware 4.4 and about 6 other freebie supposedly bluray writing softwares as well they all do the same/similar thing.(such a waste of money so far)

It says its copying but just as it finalizes the disc it crashes and then the disc that is written on becomes unreadable even tho you can see there is data written on it visually ... some of the freebie software i tried point blank said please insert a blank disc or this disc is unable to be written on. I tried both PRINQ 25GB and Verbatim 25GB discs so far... in case it was a disc brand issue.

ANY ADVICE guys??? Mat"shit"a / panasonic are not answering my emails (it's been a month now and 3 emails later still no response) and I cannot find a firmware upgrade online nor an updated driver ... and I really also want advise on what is the best, easiest and most affordable Bluray data capturing software ... I am not interested in movie copying etc which it seems most of the bluray software is designed for ... HELP!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

PS: I bought a samsung external bluray writer the other day too in sheer frustration and it also will not allow me to write just data file backup. Same faults? Is this a bad idea the bluray ???
