I'm looking at the Sony BDPS390 because it seems to get the best Amazon and Best Buy customer reviews, as opposed to the Sony BDPS185 which got slightly worse overall customer reviews and significantly cheaper Blu-Ray players which tend to get average reviews. My issue with the BDPS390 is mostly that it costs about as much as a 3D player when all I want to do is watch a few Blu-Ray movies. But I also want it to work well too. Also, I don't need a 3D Blu-Ray player, I'm only looking at 2D. I just want to also doublecheck that at $90, the BDPS390 is the 2D blu-ray player to buy.

At Best Buy, the 590 is only $10 more than the 390 and contains wifi for your firmware updates and media streaming capabilities. Personally, the bare minimum models are just not worth it when you can spend only a few dollars more and get so many more features. Essentially, if you want quality in a player you're gonna have to dig a bit deeper in your wallet; however, in this case it literally is a matter of a few dollars.

I have this player & it's a great little player IMHO. I've watched countless hours of netflix on it & thrown a 100 plus disc's at it. It has NEVER had any issues. If you're just looking for a cheap 2D player grab it. Keep in mind you will have to plug it in to your wifi router directly though. For me mine are next to each other so no big deal.
