I'm trying to decide btw a 2:35:1 screen & 16:9 screen but it appears that if I got a 2:35:1 screen this projector wouldn't have the ability to display it in that format.
I have Avengers on right now on the wall but the projector has it in a 16:9 format instead of the 2:35:1 format it should display in. Anyone know anything about the ability for this projector to display in 2:35:1? Thank you |

No projector that I know of has a native 2.35 panel, the 3010 will display 2.35 the same as any other projector, with black bars. Now it will likely also stretch that image to fill its 1.78 panel, but then you would need an anamorphic lens to stretch that picture out to 2.35. * Sub: SVS PC12-NSD * L/C/R: Axiom M22's * Surrounds: B&W DS6 * Pre/Pro: Integra DHC-80.2 * AMP: Emotiva XPA5 *

You'll have to zoom the image in order to make it fit the screen.
That can get bothersome after a while since that projector has a manual zoom.

I did it manually for 5 years (Insert blue joke here) with my Panasonic PT-AX100u and did indeed get tired of it, so tired of it I went 1.78 when I had the chance to remodel my theatre. In my experience 2.35 screens are worth the effort when you have more width than height, if you have more height than width and decide to go 2.35 than you are missing out on movies like Avengers or any other < 2.35 content.
