Default Nintendo announces New 2DS XL

http://kotaku.com/nintendo-announces...-xl-1794727565
This new model has all the functionality of the New 3DS, minus the 3D screen, and a new hardware design. It will launch on July 28 in the US and retails for $150.

On the one hand, I don't see much point in picking one up, since the 3DS has been out for over 6 years now and the Switch has already come out.

On the other hand, it's cheaper than the New 3DS XL, and it's freaking gorgeous.

The best number is 73. Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror, 37, is the 12th and its mirror, 21, is the product of multiplying 7 and 3... and in binary 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001.
Films I'd like to see on Blu-Ray Disc:
Scarface (1932)
ABC Weekend Specials (1977Ė1995) [TV Movies]

I donít believe anyone that refuses to post a source, they just like spreading FUD.

I need to replace my American 3ds. My right hinge just broke all the way. I have to decide on getting this or getting a new 3ds xl.

I'm more than okay with this. I had been wanting to replace my 3DS xl for some time but the pricing is still way off the mark on a NN3DS/XL. This could fill that gap as I never use the 3D anyway.

Here's my justification!

Got a nice selection of Japanese games, but I only have a regular Japanese 3DS to play them on, and that screen is TINY. Not only that, the ergonimics of that first model is quite horrid as well. Pre-ordered the DQ New 2DSXL as soon as it was made available on Japanese Amazon. Really looking forward to getting my hands on it!

Not that they've been easy to come by lately anyway but production ended for the NN3DS (non-XL) line in Japan. No word for other territories but I wouldn't imagine they're making any more for other regions.

Seeing a lot of comments on sites that they didn't sell well. Well no shit. You could only get the XL in America for a long time and once they did come out they were extremely hard to find. I so wanted the black friday system to replace my original XL and could never find one. Now I want to get a NN2DS to replace it with but it doesn't seem worth it at this point.

Got mine today

Really surprised by how light it is, and it feels great to hold. Now back to DQXI!

I might get one when they come down in price a bit. Just as a keep sake. It's looking extremely likely this will be the last dedicated handheld console so it would be nice to have one to keep sealed.

I just ordered one last night from Amazon with some credit I had and I can also get about $80 back from the trade in of my old system (so it made the decision easier).

In the US we only get the black/teal version. In Japan they have the black/teal and a white/orange version. The UK might also get both versions.
