Forgetting the whole matter of slips (as I doubt either edition sold by Amazon would have them at this point) is one considered more desirable among collectors as far as resale value?
Only if the Digital Copy and DMR codes are unused.

The Digital Copy (Oval) edition artwork is horrendous. The worst of an otherwise decent bunch; the Little Mermaid cover is beautiful and the 101 Dalmations one could have done with some embossed spots on the otherwise bare silver.

I have the standard edition; it looks much nicer.

Looking at the covers here on this website, I think I actually prefer the Digital Copy - Oval (Gold colored) Cinderella edition the most.

Edit: Meh, maybe I don't. Can't decide. Blue artwork may be bigger. Just want the movie and features.

I've wondered the same thing and checked on ebay. Seems it's always sold together.

Thought I would share this for those interested in limited edition art prints of classic movies....this print by artist JC Richard is up for pre-order right now. These are high quality art prints, not cheap paper posters. I just ordered one. I couldn't resist, this is gorgeous.

Cost is $100....kind of steep, but these are limited edition prints, and this one is bound to sell out. Print size is 12" x 36".

As of this posting, they are still available to order here:

The link has close-ups of sections of the print showing the incredible level of detail. Warning, don't look if you are remotely tempted; otherwise, you will be like me and buy it.

i am tempted to buy the diamond edition but price is kinda expensive, so im guessing maybe I should wait for this to be released as a signature collection in a year perhaps??

Why did the price jump back up? Got it for $19.99 from Best Buy in Sept. and after that it shot up to $30+

It's back in the vault. It'll be out of print for a while.

Will the upcoming Blu-ray and Digital HD releases of Cinderella use the original color scheme of the 1995 Laserdisc, as well as reinstating the fabric creases on the Fairy Godmother's gown and the fairy dust during Cinderella's transformation?

Upcoming?? It's not even a rumor yet so how would anybody have a clue.

Flip a coin. how would anyone even at Disney know for sure what a disc that may not even be released for 1-2 years look like. They could change their minds 4-5 times in the interim.

As much as I want them to, I don't think they'll fix Cinderella. We're lucky we got what we did and not something worse. Sales for this title were insane, especially with the hype of UK's royal wedding keeping it unvaulted for so long.

We'll probably get Academy ratios for Jungle Book and Fox and the Hound before we get color corrections for Cinderella.

Actually Cinderella's Diamond Edition did not sell well. Disney was complaining about the low sales although I doubt they would even think that maybe the low sales could be due to the fact that they re-used the same godawful transfer from the Platinum Edition.

I have heard though that some of the people behind the restoration are aware that it was shoddy work and would like the chance to redo it properly the next time. So here's hoping for Cinderella. I think that is much likelier than new ratios for Jungle Book (especially since it is currently how it was meant to be presented by animators) and The Fox and the Hound (which Disney flat out does not care for).

Really? I thought I read that this one sold like crazy. Maybe that was Sleeping Beauty...

(And I know we'll never get any Fox and Hound improvement, I was just trying to think of something slightly more in the realm of possibility than the usual suspects like uncut package films or Deems Taylor Fantasia. )

The Cinderella sales were really underwhelming for Disney although I can't find the article that said that right now. Basically, Disney was disappointed like they were for the sales of Aladdin in the Platinum line. Frankly, I'm not sure why Disney was surprised when first of all they reused the same terrible transfer that already got them a lot of flack for the Platinum line and then the fact that Disney has watered down Cinderella (and the other fairy tale Disney films) as part of the Princess line. So about half of Disney's demographic (boys) will be reluctant to buy the film because of Disney's treatment of Cinderella and how she's more remembered now for selling dolls, dresses, and tiaras than her actual film.

According to this post here http://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=140 Sleeping Beauty did really well (probably also because it was released on Blu-Ray twice unlike most of the others here) while Cinderella is the lowest ranking "princess" film and in the entire list, it ranks around the middle in terms of sales.

The most I can see right now for The Fox and the Hound is a blu-ray release that includes a digital copy like what Alice in Wonderland, Dumbo, Pocahontas, and Lilo & Stitch got. But much like these films didn't receive any changes to the actual disc content, I doubt we'll see any changes (whether additions or detractions) to the disc's content.
