Default Empire State (The Rock, Liam Hemsworth, Emma Roberts) September 3rd

PRE-ORDER

Three of my favorite actors in one movie? Why have I just now heard of this movie? I was checking September's new releases and there it was. Look to be straight-to-video. Interesting.

This movie had some of the dumbest characters of the year. Michael Angarano's character should've died based on the hundreds of terrible decisions he made. Though a bad film, I've still seen tons worse this year. The film is entertaining at times, but filled with stupid characters, bad hair styles, a shitty soundtrack, and is instantly forgettable.

The cover art is definitely misleading. The Rock doesn't come in until the second half the film, and Emma Roberts only has about a few minutes of total screen time. A cliche love story with Hemsworth and Roberts' characters would've been nice, but Emma Roberts only ends up playing a friend and waitress at the diner they frequent. She probably shot all of her scenes in one day, and she gets the second billing. Good for her.

Another favorite actress of mine, Shenae Grimes, also has a few lines in the film. Although it looks like she just woke up and went to the set and filmed her scenes. It would've been nice for her to have a bigger role.

Never heard of this until a few days ago....surprised this didn't get a wide theatrical release given the year Rock has had.

That right there tells you how bad this is. Hemsworth was so boring and unconvincing in this, it was unreal. To say he lacks the charisma of his older brother is an understatement.
