I throughly enjoyed the movie. Went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Deff worth getting on sale.....Full retail not so much......As a matter of fact its rare that any blue is worth full retail price....Considering that there are sales here and there you. One can often find a better price with a few clicks.......

Finally got around to watching this movie. I'm not really sure about the ending though... It started out good, like the book, then I was like what? What? WHAT? It seems like the two endings should have been switched.

I still don't get the complaints about the ending. What is so wrong about a
[Show spoiler]happy
ending? It's not like they had to
[Show spoiler]die
instead.

I have to agree with this.

[Show spoiler]While it turned out to be more of a positive thing, they still had to leave the country they once knew behind and move to a different part of the world. Everything seems like it would have been easier in a way if they all died like in O's fantasy.

I love that fact that the first ending is the happy ending in a bizarre sort of way... why else would O have imagined it?

I'm not complaining about the
[Show spoiler]happy
ending, it was great that
[Show spoiler]they all survived
. It just seems like she should have
[Show spoiler]imagined the happy ending instead of imagining them all dying
. Plus I always like when a movie's ending stays true to the book.

I respect and understand wanting a movie to stay true to the book.

I'll go further from what I said before and say I'm not sure why that had to be the ending to the book then. I actually hate most stories that have a
[Show spoiler]"sad" ending just for the sake of having one.
If there's a logical way to have a
[Show spoiler]happy ending, then why not do it? I don't see how somebody you're rooting for the entire story dying enhances a story.
I would have probably gotten rid of the movie if that was the ending.

I think that in the book the
[Show spoiler]sad
ending fit more because Elena was shown to be more powerful
[Show spoiler](despite her daughter being taken)
and it seemed like the mexican cartel didn't have any faults at all. Also I don't remember a relationship between her and O. But in the movie the
[Show spoiler]happy
ending fit more because the mexican cartel did seem to have faults and Elena was shown as weak in some situations. I also don't remebember
[Show spoiler]Lado betraying her
in the book, correct me if I am wrong.

The ending was the low point. i prefer the first ending. The second ending could have been a menu accessed alternate ending. I might buy this when it hits the $7.88 bin at Walmart.
My redbox has the 2 version, will watch tonight.
