Those screenshots above are comparisons between GTA IV and the screenshots from the game informer article. They look great compared to IV, and would show just how bad that engine was back in the early days of this gen.

I fully expect GTA V to look better than IV given the time they've had to better the engine, but i'm still of the opinion they'll look nowhere like they advertise. Almost every single marketing image in shopped to look better than it does.

GTA IV looked disgusting in image quality IMO. The world was 'real' with everything they did, but it just looked crap in terms of 'oooh, aah, shiny'.

So i'm hoping GTA V does a better job but as I've said before, it's only on the next gen i'm expecting something to be elevated once again for sandbox games and what we can do in them thanks to the increased power of the hardware.

As per usual, there will be no GTA at E3 this year.

Take-Two, the publisher for both Rockstar and 2K’s titles, confirmed neither developer’s games would be making an appearance at the LA-held mega conference. So we won’t be seeing The Bureau: XCOM Declassified or the newly titled WWE 2K14, either.

“Both Rockstar Games and 2K have decided to focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer”

The news was confirmed by Take-president Karl Slatoff while he was discussing the company’s fiscal results. “I’d like to take a moment to discuss the upcoming E3 show in Los Angeles. This year, our labels will not have a booth on the show floor.”

“Both Rockstar Games and 2K have instead decided to focus their marketing and PR efforts on a series of events throughout the spring and summer. Our team, however, will be present at the show, and we look forward to seeing many of you there.”

Keen to big up E3 in spite of Take-Two’s absence, Slatoff went on to say: “So our philosophy on the show is that we like the show, we participate in a meaningful way in the show. It’s a great place for the industry to get together, and we’re highly supportive of it. This year it just didn’t make sense for us in the same – at the same level.”
