If you play a BD, and press info and hold the button a few seconds, the extended info screen (scrollable) will show the player is sending 12 bit to your display. I typically have res as custom - UHD auto. So no you don't need to worry about .2020.

Thanks! I have seen that -- I've also seen it sometimes show a 4:2:0 stream, other times show 4:4:4.. is that somethng I should be setting, or does it not make a difference?

I'm on UHD-Auto right now also.

Thanks!

Not that I have seen really, it will automaticly select the best sub-sampling ratio for outputting to your display in Auto.

Tried again last night with 3 different USB drives and used another cd. Still can't get the player to update the firmware. How long does it normally take for them to post it on their site so the player can download it? 2 weeks from beta release I assume?

YIKES, my bad...I thought the most recent FW update was an official release and not a beta. SO glad I didn't update my player.

Many people with a 4K Ultra HD display have HDR set to auto, output resolution auto, custom resolution set to UHD auto, color space auto, color depth auto, and DVD 24p conversion on. Sometimes people prefer to turn on source direct in the OPPO so that the display does the upscaling instead of the OPPO (however source direct on the UDP-203 is only recommended for consumers that have a 4K display with HDCP 2.2., since if one owned a 1080P display and tried to use source direct while playing a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray a black screen with no picture would appear).

I never use source direct with a E6P for any media. I find the UDP-203 video quality, comparable to LG's.

BTW why do you still use a word processor for posting text here? (size, font, bold)

Would anyone be so kind as to share their Oppo settings direct to a Vizio P50 4K set?

Ok as Vincent (HDTVTest) said:

That said, buying a high-end television in 2017 will likely become a tick-box exercise, with prospective buyers thinking twice before spending if Dolby Vision is absent.
The same apply's when selecting a UHD player.

You have Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 released on the 6th of June 2017, so we have a bit of time.

It's the first to be announced, it's possible other titles will be released before that.
