Mostly the 1st one. They really are everything they say and more and that's all I can ask. Movies. music. even TV sounds much better now. Pics are forthcoming soon. BTW callas thanks for goin all audiophile on me.

So has anyone heard or picked up any 6 series II yet? I picked up an open box htm62 center channel from my work the other day, now I just need to save a little more and get a pair of 683 floorstanding speakers.

They all sound stellar though. The 683s sound noticeably better (a bit better highs and lows) than the first series, but the biggest difference IMO is in the 685 bookshelf speakers. There is a huge increase in overall dynamics from the last series that is quite impressive in those speakers.

What do you guys think?

Just picked up a pair of 685 S2's. I'm running them off a Marantz NR1403 receiver in a 2.0 configuration and they sound really nice. Very good low end, but then again, I'm running them in a small room.

Anyone compare the new 600 series to the CM series?

From the reviews, they seem to have changed the 600 series a lot. Closer to the CM...but not there.

First timer here contemplating (affordable) separates.

These aren't expensive at all. Are they any good for fronts?

http://www.ebay.it/itm/Top-1-Paar-Bo...daefed0&_uhb=1

Edit: This is surely too cheap to be any good?

They're just older models that's all, I am sure they are not bad. Truly depends on your expectation but I am sure they would sound pretty good.

Having only had a (rebranded LG I believe) Pioneer HTIB until now, I'm sure these would easily surpass what that had to offer

Its just a-shame some of the quality left especially in the 800 series switching from hand crafted wood to that fiber fake wood.
Because it's easier to have courage from a safe distance away.

There aren't many companies that are still using real wood - most are using MDF now.

My local Best Buy started carrying B&W this weekend - and I happen to love B&W, but the CM9's they had on display sounded very harsh and bright!!! I had asked the sales rep if they had calibrated the speakers and he said yes. They were mated with Pioneer if I'm not mistaken.

I've heard the older CM series at another shop and these sound totally different. The others sounded smooth but accurate. I think the problem in Best Buy is the room itself.

Just to let everyone know...
BestBuy has the CM9s on sale this week for $1249. That is a $500 saving when you buy a pair.
