Default All my blu ray movie suddenly stop working for ps3... HELP!

I got a major issue here... today all of a sudden all of my blu ray movie stop working. 2 night ago I was still watching my Indiana Jone blu ray set, however today I decide to try my Dark Knight Return Blu and it say i need new key... cool, no problem... however, even when I try to play my old blu ray that used to work; they all stop working and give me the error code 8002997F and say this video cannot be played. I was like WTF. Anyone experience something like that? I am on 3.55 firmware, i know eventually that newer blu ray movie won't work but that doesn't explain why my older blu ray stop working too.

Might be nice you mention you are using PS3. Time to update your FW.

3.55 came out 12/7/2010 which is almost two year old, so the BD playback keys probably have expired. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlaySta...ystem_software for version history. Current version is 4.25.

ok so once the key expire ALL blu ray would stop working? Another thing, I am thinking of getting a cheap standalone player and find one new LG locally for $45. Think I can do better than that on black friday?

Why don't you simply upgrade the firmware first and then go from there?
Adopted Blu-ray long before its development and launch.

If your not running a custom firmware then just update it. If that doesn't work then it sounds like the blu drive is failing.
Various: "Can you kill it?" "I believe something can." "A monster?" "No...a god."

Simplest solution ever since the OP has access to the internet to post a thread on BD.com...

And yet, the OP is seriously considering spending money to get a standalone player to solve their problem?

Anyone else see a severe lack of problem solving logic here?

Something tells me that the OP has purposely not upgraded his firmware since 3.56 locks down the box to try and prevent people from hacking the box or rolling back to older firmware.
