Unveiled at New York Toy Fair this weekend, a new range of 6" Black Series action figures are being released in packaging inspired by the original Kenner figures releases for A New Hope. Most of the figures have already been released in the Black Series line, so the real appeal for fans here is the very lovely old-school packaging.

I've never been, but I am guessing it will involve standing in line way ahead of time. I want to attend that panel so bad, but I don't want to spend all day standing in line and miss the rest of the convention. I am sure the same goes for the exclusive action figure posted above.

This should be interesting.

They will definitely have a Carrie Fisher tribute, but will also talk about what impact her death on Episode 8 and 9 will be.

More Rebels News.
New Thrawn book.
Obi-Wan movie confirmation (hopefully) or even a Darth Vader movie would be great.
More news on Han Solo movie (why are we even getting that ?)
Maybe more news on Episode 9.

With this being the 40th Anniversary, if they don't announce a release of the unaltered trilogy, I give up all hope of it ever happening in my lifetime (or at least until the 50th)

Star Wars Celebration Orlando Kicks Off with Epic Tribute to Saga’s 40th Anniversary

40th-tall-2.jpg

Quote:
A very special tribute to the 40th anniversary of Star Wars will kick start Celebration Orlando in grand fashion.

The panel, hosted by Warwick Davis, will feature Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and discussions with some of the saga’s brightest stars, highlighting the impact of the galaxy far, far, away and the fandom that has propelled it for the last four decades. As is tradition, this marquee Celebration event will undoubtedly include many not-to-be-missed surprises. Fans will definitely want to mark their calendars for Thursday, April 13th and make the Star Wars 40th anniversary panel a priority for their Celebration weekend!

Yeah its first come first serve for these. You'll have to find the place you want to go and sit in line for hours until it's time for the event. I've been to 2 so far and this will be my 3rd. My advice is to keep an eye out on the Celebration website, they should be releasing a schedule for all the events soon. Once they do that print\save it and start planning which ones you want to attend. You're going to want to do that because once you get there you'll be hit with a lot of information and you find that a lot of events happen at the same time and you don't want to have to make a last minute decision cause that could cost you. Also download a map to the convention center it self. It's pretty big and the getting a map now will help you learn it now instead of on the site. Hope that helps!

Well there's been mention of a 4K A New Hope. It's possible they'll announce that.

Not sure if it'll be unaltered. If I had to make a guess, no. :|

But what would be really cool if that they offer all three versions on the 4K. Can you imagine the money?

Talking to Kathleen Kennedy about the 40th Anniversary ? What a joke. There's only one person that needs to be there, and that's George Lucas.

For the first timers, be prepared to wait in lines for the major panels and also any exclusives.

For the Anniversary panel on Thursday and the Episode 8 panel on Friday, most likely the line will start the night before. So be prepared to be up all night if you want to guarantee a seat for yourself. Otherwise if you want some sleep, get in line early (I would say around 4 or 5 in morning).

If it's like the past two Celebrations, they will hand off bracelet's in the morning for the big panels and that bracelet will allow you admittance to the panel room. I think the big auditorium at the OCCC can hold around 2 or 3 thousand tops. So space will be limited.

As for the rest of the convention, like someone already posted get a lit of the panels you want to see and a good map of the convention center. There is an official Celebration Mobile App that is really awesome that has saved me in the past. The App has a map of the center and also a list of all of the panels going on that day.

I've been to the previous 3 here in the U.S. and there's been more and more people each time. I don't expect that to change with this one, which I'm also attending.

As to what to expect...lines. A LOT of lines.
If you want one of the exclusive toys, you'll need to stand in line, probably a long line. If you want into the general store for the 'regular' merchandise...last time in Anaheim it took and hour or two get "in" to the store, and probably an hour or two in the checkout line. (hopefully THAT improves this time around).

Celebration V & VI most of the smaller panels didn't really require lining up early. Anaheim...EVERY panel required it.

The difference is that for CV & CVI there weren't any current/new star wars movies. Now that there are, it draws much larger crowds.

They did add a new building to the convention center. I don't know if the new "north" building is going to be used for this or not. Hopefully it is.

Oh...and the Thursday morning line to get in on the first day....also crazy long that last time around people camped out for starting (I think) 10 pm Wednesday.

I just noticed my badge doesn't have anything like my name or security barcode, so what's stopping scalpers from selling them? Seems a bit odd considering this is a big convention.

When did you meet Alec Guinness at a Star Wars Celebration?

The Guide to Navigating Star Wars Celebration Orlando

http://www.starwarscelebration.com/S...ignid=96901930

Quote:
How to get a (required) wristband to see Celebration & Galaxy Stage panels and how to queue for the Celebration Experience Exhibit Hall:

After you receive your Star Wars Celebration Orlando badge, you can choose to queue to receive a Celebration or Galaxy Stage Wristband for Celebration or Galaxy Stage panels of your choice while supplies last, or join the Celebration Experience Exhibition Hall Chutes
Celebration & Galaxy Stage Wristband Queues

There will be separate Wristband Queues for each Celebration & Galaxy Stage panel each day.

Wristband Queues will be for that day’s panels only (you can get a Friday panel wristband on Friday, but not a Saturday panel wristband on Friday).

Choose which panel is your priority, and get in that queue first.

Fans will be limited to two wristbands (two Celebration & Galaxy Stage panels total – not two on each stage) per day, while supplies last.

Capacity of the stage will dictate available seats and thus available wristbands.

At approximately 6am each day, the Celebration staff will start wristbanding in each panel queue.

A single wristband will be put on each person. Extra wristbands will not be given out. You must be present to receive a wristband The only exception is for the companion of a Medical Sticker holder. This companion, if he is holding his own badge plus the badge of the Medical Sticker holder, can pick up two wristbands at this time. Wristbands may not be transferred, or will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Once you have your wristband for one panel, you can move through to another panel queue, and get a second wristband if there is supply for that panel remaining. Check the screens in the Queue Hall, which will be updated live, for wristband status.

After you have received two panel wristbands, or if all wristbands are gone for panels that day, you can move to the Celebration Experience Exhibition Hall Chutes, unless your first panel takes place at the Celebration or Galaxy Stage at 11:00.

If all wristbands are not given out before Celebration is open for the day, they will continue to be given out in the Queue Hall right up until the panel starts. Be sure to check the digital info wall for updated wristband availability for the day’s panels.

The Behind-The-Scenes Stage (BTSS) will be wristbanded for four panels only: the 40th Anniversary Panel Thursday, the Last Jedi panel on Friday, Rebels on Saturday, and the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday. The shows will be streamed to the BTSS. All other shows on the BTSS will not be wristbanded, and will be seated first-come, first-served.

Star Wars Fan Stage, Star Wars Collectors’ Stage, Star Wars Rebels Theater, Star Wars University and Star Wars Podcast Stage will not be wristbanded. Seating for these stages will be first-come, first-served.

Celebration Experience Exhibition Hall Chutes
Once you’ve received wristbands for your Celebration or Galaxy Stage panels, or if you choose not to see any Celebration or Galaxy Stage panels, you can get into the Celebration Experience Exhibit Hall Chutes, which will begin in West Hall D1.
Look for signs for these special chutes within the Celebration Experience Exhibition Hall Chutes:
Jedi Master VIPs
Medical Stickers
At 9:30am each morning, the Jedi Master VIP ticket holders will be led from the Queue Hall into the Celebration Experience Exhibition Halls. Jedi Master VIPs who want to see an 11am show in the Celebration or Galaxy Stages should proceed straight from the Exhibit Hall to the stage, to queue to be let in first.
At 10am, the Medical Sticker chute will be led to the Celebration Experience Exhibition Halls.
Immediately after the Medical Sticker chute clears:
Those in the Celebration Experience Exhibit Hall queue will be led into the Exhibit Hall in order of their chutes, and start enjoying all Star Wars Celebration Orlando has to offer!
Those with wristbands for the 11am show on the Celebration Stage will be led directly to the Celebration Stage to find their seats.
Those with wristbands for the 11am show on the Galaxy Stage ill be led directly to the Galaxy Stage to find their seats.
On Thursday and Friday mornings only, those in the 11am BTSS queue will be led directly to the BTSS to find their seats.
All fans must enter Star Wars Celebration Orlando from the Queue Hall. Once the Queue Hall is completely clear, and we go to “free flow.”
