I saw this one in theaters way back when, but it wasn't what I was hoping for.
If you have I Robot 3D, how would you compare it (or compared to the weakest 3D movie you've seen)? Thanks ObiWanShinobi.
I heard so many bad things about the 3D in iRobot that I passed on it...that and I'm not a big fan of the movie anyway

I'd rate Gamer 3D as an above average conversion if that helps. As long as you can accept the fast camerawork, which does get a bit too crazy at times, then there is some decent 3D here. The spacing between objects is nice and characters/objects didn't have that cardboard cutout look some conversions have.

IMO Gamer 3D is comparable to Ghost Rider SoV and Thor...I guess.

I haven't seen Ghost Rider so can't comment on that... but I don't understand how anyone could compare what was essentially an auto convert to something that was produced by a proper 3D conversion house and took weeks/months to do. Yes, Thor's 3D is easily the weakest of the Marvel lot, but it's still leagues beyond Gamer. There aren't conversion errors on every frame for starters

I actually watched Thor 3D not long ago and despite the length of the conversion process it's still one of if not THE weakest 3D Blus I own. It's not terrible just not good either but to say Thor is leagues above any 3D Blu sounds like stretch given my experiences.

I understand Gamer 3D didn't have an expensive and thorough conversion process but for $15 I was fairly impressed with it and I still stand by my opinion.

For 14.99, this isn't a huge gamble. I ordered it from amazon.

I thought I Robot was pretty good, I guess it all depends on the display people watch it on, who knows.

My local WalMart has this in stock for 14.99, on the shelf. I previously thought it was order only but not the case.

I'm having a tough month $$ wise however June I'll be picking this up and a couple other recent releases.

I Robot's 3D best moments are during the action scenes, where they spent more time converting the 3D. Outside of that, there is a sense of 3D, but it's more along the lines of the bare minimum after watching Avatar's 3D for comparison.

Gerard Butler from Gamer 3D, won't be in the sequel to 300 in 3D this year, but it'd be cool if they converted 300 to 3D also. The stylized battle scenes would be something in strong 3D.

I bought and watched Gamer 3D last night - thumbs up!

The 3D was miles better than i,Robot, at least in my opinion - consistency with depth being the major player. The conversion was good, not a lot of pop but a good sense of depth (minus one scene where the ceiling of a room completely came out of the TV, that and another scene with GB leaning forward and his elbow / arm was outwards).

There are still some places where you can see the bend / warp in objects however it is not the case for most of the conversion, plenty of parts had the focus object in front of another object at different depths and they were cut extremely clean, no warp or blur whatsoever - down to fine hairs on Sedgwick's head. A lot said on this was very overdramatic, internet 101 .

For being a back catalog 3d conversion intended on a release right to disc, and the fact you can get the 3d version for 7 dollars more than the 2d version - I think this is a success, I hope Lionsgate moves forward trying to better their conversion process and doesn't get comfy, always room for improvement whether your a 3-4 person team doing catalogs, or a 200 person team converting Spielberg's Jurassic Park.

My wife and I both enjoyed this, honestly never did think I would like the film but low and behold. Hopefully Crank 3D is next......

I had a feeling this would overall be a impressive 3d conversion! You've made me even more excited to get it!

I just wish I had been able to get it at Fry's for 10 bucks release week when they had it x( (they told me they didn't do rainchecks :/ )

Kinda sad to see this get good word of mouth from people who should know better. I imported and sold it on ebay the night I watched it. Two thumbs right down.

Jsmith82 you are really into conversions and doing that yourself so I can see why you would find something interesting about this junk. Like most conversions it is just the pooped on version of the original way to watch the film.

Better than I Robot 3D, that's good. I'll keep it in mind for future releases of movies I'd like to see, thanks.

With 3D quality being between weak, medium or strong, would you rate this medium 3D? Or inbetween weak and medium?

I would rate I Robot as Weak 3D, along with Smurfs 3D.
I'd rate Captain America 3D as medium 3D.
And Strong 3D for Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D.
