Really? You can't? That is so odd. I recall reading about reemerge cables on mono price where it was stated that because it is a directional Cable as long as the cables are oriented in the right direction they should work with all devices and even HDMI splitters!

This is from mono price
"Note that HDMI Cables with RedMere are directional. One end must be connected to the source device (e.g., blu-ray player) and the other end to the sink/display (e.g., HDTV). Hooking them up backwards will not damage anything, they just won't transmit a signal. Also note that these cables are fully compatible with switches, splitters, matrix devices, etc. They can be used in any application in which a normal HDMI cable can be used and many applications where HDMI extenders would otherwise be required!"

I don't want to sound like you didn't try this but I will ask anyways, did you try hooking up the darbee with the red mere cables?
Imagine what you could do
If you could do all you imagine

Thanks BD. I think I'm going to try it. I'll report on how it performs.

I picked up one of long REDMERE cables for a bank of Blu-ray changers I recently added to my setup. There are pics in my gallery if you'd like to check them out. Anyway, I used the Monoprice "28AWG High Speed HDMI® Cable w/Ferrite Cores - Black" cables in varying lengths to run from each Blu-ray changer to my IOGEAR "AVIOR 8-Port HD Audio/Video Switch with RS-232 Support (GHSW8181)" which I picked up off Amazon. From there I'm running a Monoprice "60ft Slim Series High Speed HDMI® Cable w/ REDMERE® Technology" from the output of the HDMI switch to the main viewing room. No sync issues of any kind and the picture and sound are perfect just as if I had a short run in place.

Thanks, that’s encouraging to hear.

Default Question about remere cables

Hi: I've been reading on these HDMI cables and they seem quite interesting in being able to solve clutter & placement problems. However wondering if they can only be used for a TV connection(i.e. from a display to a cable box for example) My gear is set-up is I run 1 cable from my TV(TC-P55ST50) to my Yamaha RX-A1000 and run 3 cables to my Apple TV(3rd Gen),PS3 slim(120GB),and to my PVR(forget model number it is Atlantic Scientific). So I'd like to buy 4 of the Ultra Slim's and continue this set-up or if necessary can I connect each device directly to my TV will they all work properly either way? Thanks!!!

These thin cables are EXACTLY what I need. I have crazy thick HDMI cables that I bought from Monorprice that are way too long. Maybe I'll get a bunch of these and one weekend do some cable cleanup behind my TV stand.

I ordered four of these today. (1) 6 ft one and (3) 3 ft ones. I have crazy long and thick HDMI cables that look stupid behind my stand.

I got worried for a bit because I saw they were directional. As I read over this thread I am glad people asked about connecting them to a HDMI receiver because that's what I'll be doing. 6 footer will go from my HDMI Onkyo to my TV and the Blu-ray player, HD-DVD player, and DirecTV box will all connect to the receiver as well.

Just want to make sure I have this right, obviously the end that says TV will go into my TV and the source end will go into my Onkyo. For the devices, the source end will go into the respective device and the TV end will go into the Onkyo?

Do I have this correct?

You are correct......I'm going to purchase these as well...they look great and will relieve my HDMI ports from my thick HDMI cables.

Plus redoing my cabling will give me an opportunity to dust behind my stand. I try to go over all my devices weekly, but there are some places I just can't get without moving stuff around.

I'm going to try the 50-footer for my 3D PJ. I'll report on the results.
