Not a big deal in the film realm, but using a 12 gauge for squirrel or rabbit hunting is definitely going to keep you from eating.

Then you're not hunting, but exterminating. There's nothing left after a 12 gauge shell.

I hope it's new transfers for all three and not just a package that adds DVD's or something. Though that may very well wind up being what it is...

Until something is announced, there aren't any ideas period. The only thing known is that Amazon got wind of something and put up a pre-order, but anything else is pure speculation.

I hate to be a downer, but I'd be shocked if these got remastered. I don't recall Universal ever going back and doing that for anything on Blu-ray so far. It wouldn't even make sense for this to come out before 2015 either to go along with Jurassic World.

Well, give up all hope on anything cool now... because this is nothing more than Universal selling the individual releases of Jurassic Park 3D, Lost World, and Jurassic Park 3 in a bundle. I guess the higher price tag for this trilogy set is because it has JP 3D in it instead of the standard Blu. So, definitely nothing to see here, folks.

This is likely something Amazon is putting together, rather than Universal. Amazon has made similar bundles often with other titles.

The price is just the sum of all of Amazon's MSRP's combined:

$39.98 + $22.98 + $22.98 = $85.94

And then they take their regular 10% pre-order discount off that to get the current price.

Best Buy has them for $7.99 each.
Only JP1 isn't the 3D version.

How did they screw up your order exactly?

These movies are out for a while, no wonder they are shipping these without slipcases. Not Amazon fault.

Then they shouldn't show the pics with the damn slipcovers. It's called FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, and yes it is Amazon's fault.

Is Target the only major brick-and-mortar store that still commonly carries this in 3D? Best Buy isn't showing anything within 50 miles and Walmart doesn't have store data for it... but even if I somehow find a slipcover version at one of the four Targets within 15-minute drives, odds are they'll be in horrible condition.

That said, in my experience, at least I generally CAN find slipcovers this long after initial release at Targets and even some Walmarts. Best Buy would've been a long-shot anyway.
Please kindly voice your desire for a lenticular slipcover on the upcoming Frozen 3D Special Edition!

I see multiple 3D copies all the time at my local BB stores...

That explains why Amazon is changing their cover mockups to plain covers. Can't be too careful these days it seems.

False advertising? really? for a piece of cardboard?
I'm sure that missing cardboard is really worth the "headache/stress" that you caused either yourself or the Customer Service Rep.

Seriously?
How is the missing cardboard sleeve impacting your enjoyment of the movies?

If this was the VHS days, yes, I'm sure that this would be acceptable since those were the only form of protection or identification that they were afforded.
Blu-Ray's and DVD's come in a hard case. the slips are worthless.
