You'd seriously spend real money on that pile of excrement! I love the first film, but the second was one of the worst flashback fests I've ever seen. I think the best bit is the ridiculous death by electric toothbrush!
Now go home and get your f***in' shine box!

Not much dialogue about Sweet Sixteen here. I watched the movie last night, it's a great slasher and I'm really pleased it's out on UK blu now. I also watched the interview on the disc. Man does that guy look uncomfortable in front of the camera lol. I admired his knowledge but he really did not look like he wanted to be there.

One observation I had to make was that the PQ of the footage used during the interview was completely different to the PQ of the movie on the blu. The interview footage was all smoothed over and looked slathered in DNR whereas the actual movie on the blu ray looks nice and grainy and unmolested by DNR. I was just wondering why the film segments in the interview look so different.
"Still in all, every night we does the tell, so that we 'member who we was and where we came from... but most of all we 'members the man that finded us, him that came the salvage. And we lights the city, not just for him, but for all of them that are still out there. 'Cause we knows there come a night, when they sees the distant light, and they'll be comin' home."

Am I the only one excited about Amazonia? Elvire Audry in HD But it's not just that - I love everything about this movie. The soundtrack is amazing IMO and there's actually a plot - it's not just random jungle mayhem. It's the only cannibal movie I can watch over and over

If 1 is Rocky III's recap and 10 being The Hills Have Eyes II from the Dog's point of view, where does it fit on the Flashback Scale?

Watched two Italian collection titles yesterday;

Cold Blooded Beast which is easily one if not the weakest out of the collection; terribly slow, poorly shot and edited and what little plot there is, it's poor. After a prologue that went nowhere and a opening title sequences that samples footage from what was to come, I knew I was in trouble. Though the front cover clearly wants to sell it as a giallo, the movie itself gets derailed by bland nudity (cellulite galore), poorly staged (lesbian) sexual scenes and dumb dialogue. Only the end sequence is laughably bad, but too bad the 100 minutes leading up to it are painful to sit through. Unless you are a completist for this collection, avoid!

Seven Deaths in the Cats Eye on the other hand was the exact opposite of Beast; boosting great settings (gothic castle with graveyard), great cast and acting, great camera movement, decent whodunnit and hot women. There is also some lesbianism going on which I didn't mind here. Riz Ortolani's score is amazing but the show stealer of this gothic giallo is the cat itself, with some cool sequences and shots, how adorable!

40 minutes out of a 79 minute movie is recap and the film holds a whopping 1.9 on imdb if thatís any indication.

Well, I'm not and I like it. Obviously it's not up there with some of the giallo greats (and far from Fernando Di Leo's best; he hated it), but for me it's still a fun, dopey exploitation flick on a slow, brain-dead evening. In fact, it really is more an exploitation flick than a giallo. And I do enjoy perving at Rosalba Neri...

Far too hairy twats in Beast, wish actually they would have censored those.

And Cats is indeed far better movie....

I've had a quick scan through my copy.

It appears to be exactly the same as the Kino release, with LPCM sound instead of DTS. It's not the best transfer, but very watchable.

I think there might be an offer on the horizon in HMV. Saw a few titles new to the 5 for £30 when I went in today. Looking at the deals banner, it seems it's just a matter of time. I'm thinking Monday because Sorority Row is still 2 for £25 on the website.

They often change the items around in the middle of the night around the weekends, so keep your eyes out.

The Bride From Hell and The Brave Archer are both 8.99 from Amazon so something is afoot.
