France Daft Punk Unchained (2015 | Documentary) - November 24, 2015

DAFT PUNK UNCHAINED

On November 24, 2015 -- Universal France will release a Collector's Edition Digibook with exclusive video bonus features,
a collector film poster and a booklet with pictures and interviews.

Along with the standard release a special FNAC Exclusive Steelbook Edition (BD+DVD) will also be available for purchase in France.

This Blu-ray is Region Free + includes a version with English subtitles.

May not be region free. Tried it today on my Sony, the 25 second Universal logo plays... and that's it. Tried stop/play, top menu, etc. Disc won't load. Also, the book is entirely in French...

Looked at the BDInfo scan of that disc and think that I found your problem. Despite the back cover claiming that it's in 1080p, it seems to have been encoded in 1080i at 25fps (technically 1080i50, but essentially the same thing) and most US players including Sony's won't handle that format. It's a pretty common thing for BDs of European-created TV productions released for their home markets, same thing happens with BBC UK releases of their nature documentaries.

If the main program was in 1080p (24fps) or 1080i60 (30fps) then it would've played fine since the Universal logo stinger (which was separately recorded in one of the two latter frame rates) did work which means the disc wasn't region-locked.
