How well does the 3D serve the story? Is the movie a 3D experience, or is it closer to a 2D-style movie with 3D depth? Did they actually set up the scenes any different than standard 2D movies? Did they try anything original with 3D that is new to me? Do characters and objects move around in 3D space for dramatic effect, or is it mainly just horizontal movement and camera cuts? Did the 3D actually help set the tone and increase the emotion of the story (beyond just seeing objects with volume)? Are the compositions well-populated, making use of foreground and background, and pleasing to look at in 3D, even in dialogue scenes? Did they avoid ugly framing mistakes like window violations and cutting off the top of heads? Basically, just anything about the artistic, creative use of 3D that I can think of and that sounds somewhat reasonable.

For Trek 3, it'd be nice if they consider 3D cameras if possible. Then amp up the 3D a bit more. |

I find that the best sequence in 3D, was when they were at Kronos. During the action, it almost felt like looking through a window. This is a movie that deserves the 3D treatment and it holds up the whole way. Even the lights on the bridge of the Enterprise were neat in 3D.

I find it hilarious that so many people get so pent-up over lens flares lol (go ahead and hang me lol :P ). To me they feel natural to the Trek film universe that Abrams presents and add alot of atmosphere and they don't bother me in the slightest or distract me.
