Just saw it and what a fantastic film! The story is much better and more emotional than DOFP.

I love both pretty equally, for different reasons. Though First Class has that awful acting from the Mad Men girl.

She's quite, ah, distracting in other areas though, that's good enough for me when the rest of the cast smash it like they do. Fassbender is the balls in First Class. "Deutsches bier....das beste..."

Geoff dreams of her being a page three girl.

I agree everyone else in that movie hits a homerun. I love the film, she just stands out as obviously lacking acting talent. That scene toward the end when she cuts open the two-way glass... ouch.

Yep.......First Class was a great movie and DOFP was a waste of film. I personally consider First Class to be the end of the franchise.

It's really not a competition, and you guys are, of course, welcome to your opinion, but I thought Days of Future Past - especially when you consider how old Picard, uh, Professor X & the old guard are getting to be - was great (as was First Class). Perhaps it'll settle some, but right now "Days" edges "First Class" in ratings both here and on IMDb. As I said, it's not a competition, but it would appear that most movie watchers aren't prepared to write off either one as a "waste of film".

What annoys me is it's the only one without a slip
And I bought it pretty early on too.

The best number is 73. Why? 73 is the 21st prime number. Its mirror, 37, is the 12th and its mirror, 21, is the product of multiplying 7 and 3... and in binary 73 is a palindrome, 1001001, which backwards is 1001001.
What is real? How do you define 'real'? If you're talking about what you can feel, what you can smell, what you can taste and see, then 'real' is simply electrical signals interpreted by your brain.

Should've gotten that new superset with Origins, the trilogy and first class.

For me, though I thoroughly enjoyed FC and have very few complaints, I agree that January Jones's career success at acting is a bit perplexing (and, on a purely primal male level, her much touted looks are overrated to the extreme), though she's certainly better now in LAST MAN ON EARTH than she was back then; the other element that bugs me is that the movie never once shakes that impression of, "Hey, kids, let's play '60s dress up!" instead of genuinely feeling like a snapshot of that era.

DOFP takes the prize here, for me, though this is really a case of looking two gift horses in the mouth.

I had to look her up, as I didn't know who J. Jones is. Emma Frost, I thought she was played by an unknown. I didn't know she was on other stuff, or knew what her name was. I still haven't seen her in anything other than the X-Men movie. That other show you mentioned, never heard of it. "Last man on Earth" – I'm guessing it's a show about a guy that still doesn't get to sleeps with women? As the old saying goes "I wouldn't sleep with you even if you were the last man on Earth"

Yeah, its very Costume Designer-ish. Jones being from Mad Men seems par.

Even if DOFP had less 70's footage, I felt some of that same overdone style was there as well.

The only excuse I could create for Jones' acting was that she was supposed to be "cool" on top of an era specific women social role. Im being nice though.

Anyone have the steelbook from Best Buy? I'm wondering if it's the same as my other First Class blu-ray.

I still see that first edition Professor X slip here and there, and not just used stores. They had one at Meijer a few weeks ago. I also grabbed the Magneto slip in very late 2013. The 3D Wolverine slip on the other hand, I haven't seen one for months in the wild, including used shops.

Him turning into Paddy O'Magneto is a bit weird, but I think those bits were part of the reshoots so he didn't bother with the accent, or he's one of them method types who has to live it for months and can't just turn it off and on.
