Can anyone post a pic of the blu-ray they found. No store around me has this item available. I ordered from amazon and they sent me the DVD instead. According to a customer service rep they encountered a problem with this item and have been shipping out the DVD instead of the blu-ray even though the description said blu-ray disc when I ordered it. They did give me a full refund though

I picked this up at WalMart, I'll give it a spin tonight, see if anything is wrong with it. Anyone else who bought it, did you notice any issues?

OK I gave it a spin tonight and can't find anything wrong with this disc. The Christmas special looks absolutely amazing, they did a fantastic job with the transfer! You can see every texture in the stop motion puppets-it's easily a reference quality transfer.
The bonus episodes also look great, especially the ones from later seasons (Club SpongeBob).
Also, beyond the listed extras, there are also bonus extras:
SpongeBob's Start
Voice Overs
Drawing Characters
"The Graveyard Shift": In the Beginning
Show Design

So not sure what the issue could be, maybe a rights issue? Very strange...

Be warned, they are shipping the DVD instead of the blu-ray. Ordered the blu twice, sent the DVD twice. Clowns.

Also the blu-ray transfer is actually 1080i (interlaced)instead of 1080p as listed on the blu-ray website. Normally the transfer would be 1080p(progressive)...not quite sure why it is 1080i instead of 1080p. Can anyone provide some insight on this issue? Perhaps this is one of the reasons why it has been difficult to locate. I was only able to obtain a copy through a seller on e-bay.

I didn't notice it was 1080i until you posted this, sure enough it is. Not sure about your opinion, but I think it looks amazing -- I never would have guessed this isn't 1080p. So just my opinion but I wouldn't let that discourage anyone from picking this up as the picture quality is fantastic.

I don't think that's the shortage issue though, as it states that right on the blu ray (although it's so small I never noticed it).

I'd like to like some of the earlier episodes (S1-3) on Blu Ray as season sets!

Oh no...I definitely agree with you. It looks fantastic and I am more than pleased with the transfer. I am glad I was able to actually locate a copy. I kept receiving dvds from various online vendors. I have just been trying to figure out what the issues have been with the different vendors and why this item seems to have undergone some shortage across the board etc...
Amazon kept and is still shipping out the DVD for some reason. However, I think they have it listed as the DVD now and not as a blu-ray. Moreover, Wal-Mart (on the website) has it listed as unavailable http://www.walmart.com/ip/It-s-A-Spo...Frame/21578969

Bestbuy.com along with Target have it listed as available so anyone having trouble with amazon might try out their luck with them:

E-bay has a few listed as well, which is where I was able to find a copy.

Is this version listed on Amazon the Blu-ray: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/Spo...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

The wording in the product description indicates that it probably is, but the format at the top says DVD. Does anyone know for sure?
