Have we reached a point yet where the Smurf veterans of the format "war" wouldn't howl over how we're still "suffering" from "inferior encodes limited by mastering with HD DVD's lesser 25G capacity in mind" if they did this? "We're still feeling the negative effects of HD DVD and its inferior spec having ever existed" some would howl. I hear DaViD coming this way to post right now just for your having suggested such a travesty.

I can't speak for everyone, but I do know this: Something is better than nothing.

Very true. Everyday I stare at what is left of my DVD collection and wish studios would just get off their butts and give us more cataloge titles on blu.

But this thread is about HD DVDs and AFAIK Cotton Club has never been out on HD DVD either.

But I'm with you -- would love to see CC on BD.

I'd really love to see Breach finally make its way to blu ray. Stellar film, great cast, really does deserve the high def treatment. I purchased the Itunes HD version which is nice but hopefully it sees a blu ray release soon...

I still have the HD DVD and I make sure to watch it at least once a year. One of the best spy/espionage films I have seen.

Universal will bring The Jerk and Liar Liar to Blu-ray on July 9th.
"You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment."

Man, I am hoping for the same thing. I still own the HD DVD combo (but no longer own an HD DVD player) and play the DVD from time to time.

Such a great movie. We need this on Blu!
