It wasn't always that way ! The economy forced Lee to close his big store on Volvo Parkway and he moved all of his operations to Hilltop over in V.A. Beach. He's an authorized B&W dealer and yes service is second to none. I called there this morning but was saddened when I found out that my mentor - Bill Jenkins - had passed away a couple of years ago . We worked great together and he told me that I gave him a love for retail again (he was working mainly custom homes but had to wait to be paid, while waiting - we split deals, seeing that I was in the Navy and Domes money was play money for me - I didn't mind splitting sales with Bill. I could always trust my customers with Bill.) Good times....good times.....

Not so sure about that, especially if you are using the 800D or 802D as your L/R. The entire midrange/tweeter unit of the HTM1D exactly matches the L/R speaker, creating a more seamless image across the front three speakers, which is critical in home theater.

Are you saying the marlin head teardrop engineering doesn't matter?

Only if you are using the first generation 800d or 802d.
If you are using the 2nd generation, the htm2d is the better fit except of the low end.
The best, of course, would be to have another 800d or 802d as a center like the member WES.
