I just remember my rib cage vibrating like a piano while watching it in 70mm True-Max and the five times the movie made me cry. Yeah, I get some people were indifferent to it, you get that with all movies... from Fantasia to 2001. I was floored. I adore this film, and I don't say that a lot. Everyone I know in "real life" has admiration and affection for it, and I'm not swimming in shallow pools.

When I realized the film was just another NASA hype movie, I turned it off, right after he speaks to his daughter who's saying behind her closed door "Just Go"... so I did.

I'll never see the special effects, because I don't watch propaganda, no matter how well it's constructed.

I gave it one star, because half-star wasn't available.
Umm, what?!

I've posted some seriously messed up stuff while drunk. If you are drinking, I'd say stay away from the keyboard for now. Because what you posted? It made no sense whatsoever.

I watched it in 15/70 IMAX too. And I cried too. Great film.

I can't speak to what people I know think about it, since I don't really have a lot of friends. But I was completely blown away. I could watch this film without sound on and still be enraptured. It's lovely.

I think a modern reboot of Seinfeld would be perfect.

If there's any government agency out there which NEEDS propaganda--with their years of crippling budget cuts and reductions--it's NASA.
You can't stop progress.

I watched this a second time and came away more impressed than originally. I give it an 8.5/10 on my second viewing. The story with Murphy was more intriguing after giving it more thought, even though I don't have any kids. The other story about mankind is what really caught my attention. I'm biased toward space adventures and the exploration of outer space so I have to give this movie two thumbs up.

Agreed!

They need to give them more money and spend less spent on war and the military for christ's sake.
