Both u guys are wrong. Tim Burtons Frankenwenie is the one I will be betting my money on. The Academy will award Burton an Oscar almost for sure. I think he will take home the globe as well

I think Frankenweenie would be the favorite, other than the fact no one went to see it.

Pretty satisfying nominations. I'm really eager to see who goes home with Best Drama. My two big complaints would be the lack of love for Game of Thrones and Bobby Cannavale not getting a nomination for his spectacular work on Boardwalk Empire.
RIP Nav. Godspeed, my friend.

SUPER Happy for Cloud Atlas! I love that film and score!

Why the hate on Life Of Pi? I thought It was an excellent film with a heartfelt story and spectacular visuals!

Agreed. Great film, but not what The Hollywood Foreign Press Association usually picks. They usually pick more mainstream films (I was surprised by Moonrise Kingdom this year though.)

If Ralph doesn't make it I would put all my money on Le Tableau. It's been a really soft year for animation with way more hits than misses but my sources are whispering for Ralph as the favorite.

Nice to see Life of Pi get some noms. Also happy for Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson. Surprised Smash got nom'd... I gave up about 4 episodes in. Thought it was cancelled by now, lol.

Also, I can't figure out why Shameless and William H. Macy doesn't ever get nominated for anything, yet shows like Episodes does.
Because Episodes is good?

I personally love Episodes so I'm happy that its nominated

Didn't buy Life of Pi for one minute. It has some very good visuals and individual scenes but as a whole it completely failed for me. Every single actor in the film gave a horrendous performance. The end was completely unsatisfying as was the very shoddy revelation about teeth in a plant-things. I would put it on my worst of 2012 list with a grade of C-

I still think ARGO was EXTREMELY over-rated. I will need to re-visit it when it is released on Blu to decide my final opinion though. Lincoln, the only other Best Picture I've seen so far also was not overly impressive besides the outstanding performance from Day-Lewis.

Zero Dark Thirty looks amazing, and I cannot wait for that and Django unchained. Life Of Pi I'll catch on Blu when it is released.

Of course Denzel would get nominated for his "typical Denzel" performance in Flight -- see Meryl Streep.

I really also need to see Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Looks to be an interesting film. Probably should have picked it up when it was 12.99 on sale. It might still be though.

No ParaNorman love for animated film? Outrageous!

Congrats to Breaking Bad for the nominations!

of the animated films, I thought 'Frankenweenie' was the best of the bunch.

Wreck it Ralph was meh

Rise of the Guardians had great visuals, odd story

Hotel Transylvania was weak and bottom of the barrel.

Brave - okay, not great.

what? no The Pirates: Band of Misfits

It's good, but it's nothing like Shameless. The acting by William H. Macy, Emmy Rossum, etc. is outstanding.

Pulling for Tommy Lee Jones in the biggest way, thought his performance was magnificent.

I don't think it's boring if they pick those who gave the best performances.
