Blu-ray Samurai

I've rented The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America, and found that these films all have the same weakness. The first hour of each film is brilliant, with the origin story and character development, but each film becomes painfully boring during the second half when each story falters into forgettable villains, underwhelming CGI effects, and anticlimactic underwhelming conclusions. Even the first Iron Man film suffers similar problems to a lesser degree. The Avengers impressed me when I saw it in the theater, because it was the first of these films that interested me all the way through, from beginning to end. It does not reinvent the wheel, but it's a great popcorn movie in my collection that I'll rewatch over and over. The only superhero films in my collection at present are: Iron Man, X-Men: First Class, The Avengers (Blu-ray) Superman, Superman II, The Dark Knight (DVD) I'm showing my age here, but Superman II is still my all-time favorite superhero movie. I really hope that the theatrical version of Superman II is released as a stand-alone Blu-ray at some point, because I will upgrade it in a second.
