Is the wait for this killing anyone else? It feels like torture.

ok so I just finished rewatching the series. I forgot what a non-ending the ending was. I know they were hoping for another season, but as a result they left us an open ending.

So it's great we have the movie to catch us up on what's happened to everyone. (and books and hopefully future movies or limited TV series to continue it)
I sure hope Veronica doesn't end up with Logan in this movie. Even when he stopped being the jerk villain, he just spent the series moping around. I guess that makes me Team Piz.

But then, I always thought her love life was the least interesting thing about the show.

and damnit... rewatching the Season 4 pitch reel, I would have loved the FBI show. I'm also disappointed that the movie has her as become a lawyer rather than having gone the FBI route. Especially when the series played up her whole internship there.

It's a real shame the show ended. Ridiculous. Yet they kept One Tree Hill going for endless seasons. I am so excited for this movie. This is one of my favorite shows and as sad as it is I couldn't even re-watch it before the movie was announced because it just made me so mad it was axed and we didn't get any closure. This movie is an absolute miracle. Never thought it would happen but kept hoping it would. The ending of a show has never left such a hole in my heart. This is one show that I just couldn't shake. I still say Gilmore Girls is my favorite show, but when that ended I was ok with it. It had 7 seasons and wrapped up fine. Would I love for that to get a movie someday? Absolutely! But it just wasn't as necessary as a Veronica Mars movie. This show was gone way too soon.

Oh, and of course she's going to end up with Logan because the majority of fans would be mad if she didn't, but I don't care for him at all. Piz is a better guy. Logan is bad for her. He's one of those people you have some kind of chemistry with but they're fairly toxic for you. Veronica could do way better.

I'm sure everyone will think I'm a horrible person for saying this, but it's a shame they had to film it right after she had her kid. She definitely still had that pregnancy weight, especially in her face. I'm not saying she's fat or anything - she's still beautiful - but you can definitely see she's heavier than she used to be, and than she is now. I know they only had a small window to do it, though. Just would've been nice for her if they could have given her more time.

Honestly that has been bugging me too. Even in this still her face looks bigger.

I'm trying not to complain because I'm just happy we're getting a movie, but yeah, I wish she would have had more time. And like you said it's not like she's ugly. I just find it hard to see the character as anything but a twig. That's what I'm used to.

Bell is still adorable, but I know she normally looks hotter than she does in this movie. And I say this as a gay guy. I'm not misogynistic or anything like that.

If we get another movie or better yet series it will be nice she could be back to her normal weight.

Piz is a jerk.

He knew Veronica had a serious boyfriend and still pursued her relentlessly. He's also boring.

Just watched episode 5 of season 3, and Wallace as an engineer made me LOL. He never really showed much aptitude in high school for math/physics; he was more interested in "cruising" by. Besides, no freshman would be taking actual engineering courses anyway. I just rolled my eyes through that whole plotline.

How are the sell-outs for this at people's locations? The theater doing fan events in Minnesota have those sold out.

Someone at another message board I'm at said:

Quote:
At a theater in my area, the movie already has two sellouts for its midnight showings. Earlier in the night, at 8pm there are two sellouts for something called the "Veronica Mars Fan Event". The 7pm showing on Friday is approaching 75% full and the 9:45pm showing is closing in on the 50% full mark. I'm excited to see how this does at the box office.

I don't know how to check percentages, but I'm still able to buy midnight showing tickets as well as Fan Event tickets here in Houston.

Kickstarter backer update:

Quote:
Gang,

In just over an hour, Veronica Mars will have its "official" worldwide premiere at SXSW, here in Austin, for a theater full of film lovers who might -- or might not -- be Veronica fans, and I'll get to see how a film festival crowd reacts to what we've made. It should be fun, and I think it will tell me something about how the general public might respond to the movie.

You might think that premiering my first film at a major film festival, in my hometown, would be the most exciting thing happening to me today. But it won't be. It's going to be amazing and a heady experience, sure, but the most exciting part of my day will be just a few hours later, when we hold the first of our Kickstarter premiere events. The cast and I will take our seats and watch the movie again, but this time in a theater full of our backers -- fans so committed to Veronica that they made this movie possible. For the first time, I'll get to see the movie with some of you.

When we were making final plans for tonight's event, the theater staff -- knowing that I'll just have seen the movie at SXSW -- offered me a private room where I could relax, in case I didn't want to see the movie twice in a row. Here's the thing: I know the movie by heart. I've watched every scene in the movie hundreds of times.

But for me, tonight's screening isn't about seeing the movie for the umpteenth time: it's my first chance to watch you watching the movie and to experience it with the people we made it for. I've been anticipating this day for a long, long time.

It's time for me to get ready for the SXSW screening, but before I do, I'll say it again:

Thank you for giving us the chance to make this movie, and for making today possible.

We can't wait to meet some of you tonight, and over the coming week.

Rob

I so hope fans and people new to Veronica Mars enjoy this movie. I'm so excited and yet nervous how it will turn out. Looking forward to hearing reactions.

Having a marathon today. Trying to get as much of Season 3 watched as possible. Need to finish by Friday. LOVE this show so much! Kristen Bell is perfection. Even season 3 is awesome, IMO. I know it gets a bit of a bad rep and is seen as the weaker season but I think Rob Thomas did a great job of making it easier for new viewers to get into by having shorter mysteries rather than one that lasted over the course of an entire season. It's what the network wanted him to do and he succeeded without, at least IMO, compromising the enjoyment of the established fans. The writing and acting is still as strong as ever. And even a weaker season of this would be better than the majority of what was on network TV.

I've been reading old blogs and threads as I go along watching the episodes, and a common complaint that I find people had about season 3 was that Veronica was more b!tchy and condescending than before.

Important question:

Who'd win in a snark-to-snark battle: Dr. Percival Cox from Scrubs or Veronica Mars?

I gave in and watched the first 8 minutes. The baby weight is distracting , but the movie seems really good.
