AND not ot forget THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD even they used the BEST SOURCE MATERIAL (common this was really a bad joke by FOX). The MGM DVD looks much better.
MGM is responsible for the transfers of their catalog titles. Fox merely distributes their catalog. MGM decide how much work gets done on any given title. Sometimes, they do great work...other times, not so much.

Sorry for the thread bump! I know this is a little OT, but for all the big fans of this film, Sideshow just released a very cool action figure:

I know it's not for everyone, but figured I'd post it for those that might be interested.

That is very cool. But why does he have an extra set of feet and hands?

He didn't have extra feet/hands in the film?
They are interchangable to "enact" different parts of the film character. So you can "dress him up" in different poses.

Sideshow are long overdue making a Bronson figure. I'd like one of him as Harmonica or Mr. Majestyk.

I knew there was something strange about him, I couldn't work out what it was.....

Ahh, OK. The pic looks like he's fixed onto the stand.

That's just for posing, as depending on the pose, it might not stand alone. Many points of articulation, so there are many different poses you can make.
These 1/6 scale figures are really quite neat. I'm really happy to see some of the classic screen legends getting a figure.
Obviously not for everyone, but if you're a big fan of the film, this would look pretty neat displayed next to the blu-ray.

Why have I never heard of these before? Good grief they are expensive though - which is probably a good thing, I want all of them. Check out the awesome Marty McFly and DeLorean they have coming out. Nearly $1000 for both

In no way are these considered kid's toys, that's for sure! Hot Toys has done some amazing work with 1/6 scale line.

Hot Toys does make a lot of them, Sideshow has a few they do themselves, but this McQueen is by Star Ace. Star Ace also has 1/6th Harry Potter figures.

My bad, I just assumed it was Hot Toys. Well I hope Star Ace has a Peter O'Toole from Lawrance of Arabia on tap.

I was thinking they could have a cooler you could put him in, but that's getting dangerously close to dolls and dollhouses territory...

Maybe when he got recaptured after coming out of the dirt tunnel he dug with Ives? Or when he goes out across to the woods and is tugging on the rope, maybe he had bare feet then?

Time to dig out the blu-ray and take a look

Alas, I no longer have the BD as it looked like crap. I've been holding out for a new transfer/remaster.
