Default New Japan Pro Wrestling / Ring of Honor talk

Since both companies work together I decided to make this thread about both instead of having individual ones.

Right around the corner is New Japans Biggest Show of the Year.

Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th

The card is stacked but these 2 matches are the main ones that have everyone talking.

Here's the complete card.

IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega defending against Chris Jericho in a no DQ match

IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada defending against Tetsuya Naito

IWGP Intercontinental Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi defending against Jay White

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Marty Scurll defending against Will Ospreay, KUSHIDA, and Hiromu Takahashi in a four-way match

NEVER Openweight Champion Minoru Suzuki defending against Hirooki Goto in a hair vs. hair match

IWGP Tag Team Champions Killer Elite Squad defending against SANADA & EVIL

Kota Ibushi vs. Cody (w/ Brandi Rhodes)

NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Champions Bad Luck
Fale & Guerrillas of Destiny defending against Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano & Beretta, Togi Makabe, Juice Robinson & Ryusuke Taguchi, Michael Elgin & War Machine, and Zack Sabre Jr., Takashi Iizuka & Taichi in a gauntlet match

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Sho & Yoh defending against The Young Bucks

The New Japan Rumble (pre-show)

I'll be watching live. Anyone else watching? Anyone new to NJPW watching?

I probably won't be seeing Wrestle Kingdom but I do watch the weekly show they have on Fight Network here in Canada. If they end up showing some of it, I'll see it then.

As for Ring Of Honor, we watch it weekly and we order every PPV as well. My wife and I are big fans.

ROH goes to Toronto every year and we went a few years ago and saw Global Wars. They taped four episodes of TV and had guys from ROH and New Japan there. Awesome show.

Yeah. WK12. I get off work JUST in time to see it from the beginning of the show. So I'm excited for January 4th. I hope to see Jericho do something different in the ring. The same but also different.

Also pretty pumped for Naito and Okada. But Omega and Jericho is one that intrigues me more cuz... well... it's different from the NJPW norm for sure.

Only ever seen the Omega/Okada match from last year which was great.

Wont be watching t all though, guys like Will Ospreay have zero appeal to me. I remember someone telling that that I had to see one of his matches against Ricochet. After watching I felt sick, that's not Wrestling to me, its just glorified gymnastics.

Google New Japan World and it will take you to their site. There's even a spot at the top of the page to translate it to English. You have to register and then you can order their online content. It's 999 Yen for a month. That's about $12 Canadian for me. I'm going to check on the weekend and see if it's available as a replay and order it then. I'm sure it will be available soon after it's played live.

Different strokes for different folks. Nothing wrong with that. I love Ricochet and Will Ospreay but I can definitely understand why some wouldn't. Luckily we have lots of different stuff out there for us to watch.

working good for me.

This rumble is already tons better than last year's. May not mean much in the overall of most of their rumbles but this is pretty fun and isn't a waste of time like last year's.

Well... what's wrestling to you? I grew up on Lucha Libre. So what they did? Is wrestling for me. Get off your high horse and understand the game has always been different beyond what limitations you may restrain yourself to what wrestling is.

Just listening to the Rumble right now, have no interest in the multi man stuff (other than the Junior match with Scurll and Ospreay) I'm just waiting to get to the singles matches on the card.

20 minutes till the real start of this thing. Going to shower now. Getting off the time that I do from work really puts me in a good time slot for NJPW.

Roppongi vs. Young Bucks. Some surprising things going on here. Can't tell if Matt Jackson and Yoh are selling well or not. Yoh is selling the shit out of the pain right now.

There's absolutely no need for you to be rude. This person is just giving an opinion. No need for your comments at all.

Was interesting to see why Brandi Rhodes would even be named but now I get it. I wouldn't normally enjoy most valets/managers/whatever doing this nowadays but she's been pretty useful here.

This should be an awesome show. Enjoy. Hopefully I'll be able to catch a replay this weekend. Just gonna stay away from here until I get to see it for myself.

I wasn't sure how a Cody vs. Ibushi would flow but that was pretty entertaining.

They need to really get Ibushi and Kenny to duke it out. Japanese fans would eat the hell out of that one cuz of the history there.

The only word to describe the experience of watching Ibushi wrestle is joy.
