Absolutely not.

And the same goes for DVDs, CDs, books and magazines.

I had two or three times when things never came back to have me enforce a "hell no!" policy if I am every asked by a friend if they can borrow something from my collection.

Not budging on this one.

Nein, Nein, Nein! I'm a collector. It's sacrilegious; I prefer to just buy them a copy.

No, but then again out of all the people I know only me & 1 other person has a BD player, everyone else still has a DVD played & still buy plenty of DVDs. Sometimes ill take a BD over to my dads so he can watch it since I just got him a BD not too long ago, and he still goes out & buys just DVDs for the most part

I trust certain people with most of my stuff. However, I always observe a very simple rule:

"Don't ever loan anything that you can't afford to lose."

If a particular disc is out of print, commanding high prices on the secondary market, or is a rare foreign version, I don't loan those to anybody.

I have a similar rule about lending money to family or friends:

"Don't ever loan more money than you can afford to lose."

Often, family and friends tend to regard "loans" as actually being gifts, and those "gifts" are often never returned.

LOL, ain't that the truth! I know many people who have BD players but continue to buy DVD, not necessarily for the price but because they just don't know (or care!) It disturbs me that people aren't as anal as I am

My son and I loan back and forth, but that's about it for me

I know right lol. Since I got my dad his BD player he's bought maybe 14 BDs & that's cause I was with him at the Best Buy stores those times. Our local Target though has not only shrunk the media section but for some reason carry more DVDs now instead of BDs so when he goes alone he'll just grab the DVD.

Nope. They can rent at the store or buy their own. Or use my UV account.
