Any ideas of what might be the problem that I could easily resolve?

This isn't my primary player but the ones I use in the kid's room, but I'd still like to avoid having to replace it, if I can.

I've owned this player since October 2008. I've upgraded the firmware to 3.1, but I have recently had problems when loading some new BDs from Warner Home Video, the Sci-Fi and Hammer Horror collections. However, if I put an older BD in and get it through the menu and start playing the film, then eject it and try the newer BD again, the player will then recognize it as a BD and play it fine. But the fact is it's an older player now, so I'm getting ready to replace it.

USA Offtopic: Star Wars The Force Awakens on SA-BTT370

***Sorry for misplaced post - as a new forum member, I can't create my own thread yet ***

I have a Panasonic SA-BTT370 Blu-Ray player that was a hand-me-down from a family member. I've played DVDs on it, but never a Blu-Ray. I tried playing the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-Ray on it last night, and I got the UNSUPPORT message on the little display panel, and a message on the TV that the disc couldn't be read.

It seems the device is up to date on the latest firmware - version 1.59. Its network connection works. I suppose it's possible it's a hardware problem, but I'm holding out hope that there's just something in the new disc that needs a firmware update to support. Maybe I'm dreaming...

Panasonic wants 10 bucks just to answer my support call - do I have any better options?

Well, I have finally replaced my old BD30. I bought the Shout Factory BD of THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL and the BD30 wouldn't recognize it. That was it. Since I've never had an all-region player, I ordered one from 220-Electronics, a Panasonic BD91. So far, working great. I haven't gotten rid of the BD30, though. Still works great with most discs.
