I really hope that they do! I would also love to see Universal release its other big 3D classic, It Came From Outer Space.

That would be nice also. The more 3D releases of the 3D classics, the better.

Just got my copy, review coming later.

I watched the first 10 mins of this and just have to say wow, wow, wow! After a tentative start, with murky, cloudy shots of the earth and jungle, the 3D kicks in big time on the discovery of the creature's fossil. For the next few minutes of viewing I was in 3D heaven. The depth is perfect and all items have a solidity to them. The underwater scenes are breathtaking. One scene in particular, where the camera looks out from inside an Aquarium at Julia Adams had me drooling. Then again, I was drooling every time Julia Adams was onscreen anyway.

Looking forward to watching this properly when I get in from work.

All 3D fans, you should buy this movie...you won't regret it.

Gae

Yep, Prometheus is turning out to be a big push for 3D Blu Ray.... so many people seem to be buying the 3D Blu without even having the equipment. Avatar will do the rest...

Thanks Gae. Great review. I'm glad to hear the minor flaws didn't hurt the overall enjoyment of Creature from the Black Lagoon's strong 3D layers. This is on my must have list now, thanks.

Cool. I just watched Alien 1 tonight to get ready for the blu ray Prometheus 3D.

The fact studios are releasing the old 3D classics has to be a good sign for the 3D market, otherwise they wouldn't even bother.
Now for Revenge of the Creature 3D, although it wasn't as good as the first movie and mostly took place in the Aquarium Zoo underwater
[Show spoiler] till he escapes and takes a swim in the ocean. The creature design was really well done IMO.

Here is our new article on the 3-D history of CREATURE, plus a review of the new Blu-ray.

http://www.3dfilmarchive.com/an-in-d...black-lagoon-1

We've included some original never-before-seen 3-D artwork from the studio files. I hope you will find it interesting.

Does anybody know anything concrete about It came from Outer Space? I heard they had lost the ability to release to release it in 3D. i hope that's false.

Also, ANY shots of Julie Adams underwater are not her but a double!

Just watching this now. and there is a huuge mistake at 12:10 for a few seconds on a water reflection shot. You can put it to 2D and back on pause by pressing up and down and you can see how big it is.

Beyond that, first immpressions are good..

Default Pre order Creature From the Black Lagoon 3d

I just pre-ordered my 3d copy. I just could not see paying the $200+ price for the collection. Even though it was a sweet collection. I just want the "Creature From the Black Lagoon", for now.

What $200? Amazon US has the collection for $89.99. Amazon UK has it for about $45, including shipping (region free).

Great to hear Creature 1 3D getting a US release. Now we need Sammy the Turtle 3D also. And part 2 for both sequels, including Revenge of the Black Lagoon 3D.

Anyone know if the June release of the film in blu-ray will be in b&w or in color?

this is one of the few films that I enjoyed in color.

I don't mind the color version provided we can adjust our TVs to Black and White to see the original. The good news here is like Frankenweenie 3D, black and white doesn't detract from great 3D.
