No dolphin trainer scene = no sale for me although the HD transfers look like a nice upgrade from the FS DVD.

Im sad that this scene will probably never be included in future releases but as long as I can get Dumb and Dumber in HD as the theatrical cut, I'll be happy.

Are those worth buying if you have the double pack DVD (which has pretty much the same features AFAIK)?

Is there any way to get the extended version of AV1 on DVD/BD? I'm sure I remember a longer dolphin trainer scene, maybe that was in the cinema in the UK or on TV.. not sure.

Hey,
For anyone who wants the double pack (like me) there's a German release available here:

http://www.amazon.de/Ace-Ventura-1-2...ds=ace+ventura

I wonder if thats the same as the US release though...

The length for the German release says 180 minutes, which is the same as the two US releases combined, so I think it's safe to assume it's the same as the US releases. Also, it's being released by Warner, doubt they would go through and release a new cut of something they already had out.

Get the original 4:3 US DVD, that's got the dolphin trainer scene on there.

For the rest of the deleted scenes, youtube is your friend.

I saw that too! Was just waiting for one or two other titles I wanted to dip a bit in price to combine shipping, and I think I'd order that.
Fun Fact: I am the same height ( 5'1'') as Carrie Fisher, Jean Harlow, Holly Hunter, Christina Ricci, Emilie De Ravin, Anna Kendrick, Kristen Bell...yes great things do come in small packages :)

Cheers! Might make my own combo pack with the German BDs and the 1997 US DVD (if the art will fit in a 3 BD case).

Notice it says, "Featuring Additional Footage Not Seen Theatrically." I would assume that dolphin scene is the "additional footage." So technically, the BD is not edited because you're getting the theatrical version. You're just not getting the extra scene that they added in exclusively to the 4:3 home video version.
Why does the blu ray version have that on the front "Featuring Additional Footage' and actually does not?

Because they literally just copied the front art over from the DVD version and didn't notice.

They might have gotten away with it had they at least put the deleted scene on as an extra.

They should have included both versions but I'd rather own the film in its proper aspect ratio than a very short scene added to the VHS release.

It seems like the US is the only country where the marketing department mistakenly left that notice on the cover.

Oh, don't be such a prig. I've got the 4:3 DVD for the extra scene AND the Blu-ray. Besides, Ace is such a favourite of mine I'd happily watch it on VHS if that's all that was available.
