Is it just me or is GT6 a lot easier than the others? I've only raced like 5 races and already bought an S2k.

You're at the beginning of the game? To say they're "easier" at that stage is about as massive of an understatement as you can get. There is ridiculous rubber-banding in the early classes. Thankfully, it gets eased off as you get into the higher ranks.

If you've tried to gold the license tests, you'll find them much easier from previous games as well. If you're only referring to the money being accumulated, the seasonal events with a 200% bonus will have you raking in millions rather quickly.
In 2007, I bought a PS3 for 4 specific titles; in 2014, half of them haven't been released yet.

I meant the ease of money accumulation. I don't have the 200% log in bonus and I was doing events in the novice section. In the old GT games it took forever to get any money and get out of the Miata you had to start with.

They introduced the ability to buy credits with real money in this game and the result was a perceived price gouging though the math didn't actually prove that to be the case. So, PD raised payouts across the board to mitigate the outcry.

Update Details (1.10)

An update for Gran Turismo 6 has been released. The following is a list of the main features introduced:

Vision Gran Turismo

The "Aston Martin DP-100 Vision Gran Turismo" and the "NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo" have been released.

After the update has been installed, the cars can be purchased from the [Vision GT] option within the [CARS] section in "My Home". Alternatively, it is also possible to obtain the cars by completing a lap (regardless of the lap time) in the new Seasonal Events, available only for a limited time.

Brake Caliper Paint

It is now possible to repaint the brake calipers on cars equipped with [Racing Brakes] purchased within the [Suspension] menu of [Tuning Parts]. Please note there are certain cars that cannot be repainted using this feature.

Customization of car numbers

More cars have been made compatible with the [Driver Number] feature in the [Garage]. There is also an increased selection of [Base] sheet designs on which the numbers can be displayed.

Engine brake reduction control on formula cars disabled

We have disabled the engine brake reduction control that was active on certain formula cars. (This is a feature that helps you avoid spinning out from excessive braking forces generated by the engine while the throttle is in the off position. This was accomplished by slightly opening the throttle while cornering even with no input to the accelerator.)

Should we just assume we won't get actual engine sounds until 7?

Info or advice needed.

So I installed GT6 on my slim, and I can confirm there is at least 11Gb of disk space in the HDD after the game is installed. However, it keeps saying I run out of space and I am unable to download the 1.10 update. Question. Is it just my system? Or the 1.10 update is this huge in file size?

The update is gigantic as it includes Zahara's data (not actually playable yet).

I just did the updated and it was 2GB. So it should need 4GB space left on your HD to install.

Thanks for the info guys. That 1.10 update is over 7Gb in total file size, and it took nearly 4 hours to complete the download and installation (2 separate installations!). That was nutz! I am just glad it is over with for now.

Gran Turismo 6 Update 1.11 Brings Improvements to Multi-Monitor and Open Lobbies

A new update for Gran Turismo 6 has gone live, and with it comes improvements to mutli-monitor and open lobby. Here’s a closer look at the issues addressed in the newest update, weighing in at a meager 30MB.

Multi-Monitor display issue
An issue related to the Multi-Monitor feature which was causing the system to hang has been fixed. Please note this issue occurred only after Update 1.10 was installed, and did not affect previous versions of the game.

Improvements to Open Lobby
The search algorithm used to find available rooms has been improved and more rooms can now be displayed.

Other Changes?

As always, our community is already busy inspecting the latest update for any and all changes which were not mentioned in the official release notes. See you in the forums!

So except for 4 or so Coffee Break events, I have completed absolutely everything else in the game with at least a bronze. So why am I still stuck at 87% completed? What did I miss?

You have to do them all and gold them all. The added events like Senna also count.

GT6 Update 1.12 Released: Includes New Track, New Online Features, New Cars

The latest update for Gran Turismo 6 is now available, and it is one of the biggest yet, bringing one of the longest new tracks ever to be featured in a console racing game.

Named “Circuit de la Sierra”, it is based around the lake near Zahara de la Sierra, in Andalusia, Spain. The area is just a few miles from Ronda, the GT6 Photo Travel location and the city which played host to the game’s international launch party last December.

Here’s the formal change log provided by Polyphony Digital. Of course, be sure to check our forums as GTPlanet’s community reveals more undocumented changes and modifications. The 1.12 update is 484MB in size.
