3-D Blus...Finally Get to Watch Them

My brother-in-law just bought a 3-D TV, but he doesn't have a 3D capable Blu-Ray player. I've got a 3D Blu player (a PS3), but not a 3D TV. So, luck would have it, I'm baby sitting for him tomorrow, so I'm bringing my PS3 over, and all these 3D Blus I've been snapping up in case they went out of print. Going to be a hot 3D time at the in-laws' house tomorrow night.

My 3D Blus (which I've never seen on a 3D TV):

The Avengers
Tron Legacy
The Adventures of Tintin
John Carter
The Lion King
Beauty and the Beast
Tangled

Hours and hours - but no, I'm looking to go scene-hopping from all of them. Going to be a great day for 3-D, but a really bad day for narrative.

Well, it's easy to do Lion King--Just do Circle of Life, and then skip over to where Scar jumps out of the fog, and then move on to the next movie.

We started with "The Circle of Life", cause my nephew loves THE LION KING. I was in love with the tech just from the menu screen.

I didn't monkey with the TV, cause it wasn't mine, but I'm pretty sure they had some sort of hyper-frame rate "cinemotion" setting enabled, causing very unusual frame-smoothing, which I'm not used to in animated films, especially films I'm very familiar with. That was my only gripe. Otherwise, we had a blast, and films looked better than I thought they could.

Think the 3D-on setting on most sets automatically turns the frame-smoothing on high, so that the "solid" characters look more "real". In live-action, obviously, but also applies to animated.
As long as I think that's general policy for the sets, no gripe of mine.
