Australia Edited Lost episodes

Well, at least the double episode "LA X" (season 6 premiere) is in its original form on Blu-ray!

The season 1, 2, and 4 finales are in their original forms on the US DVDs, which is why I decided to keep them.

But the season 3 finale is also cut into two episodes with scenes missing in the US DVD set, unfortunately.

I wonder if these there conscious decisions by the studio (and if so, what the reasons for them were) and strongly hope they will be corrected!
Thanks for the info. Yes wish they would reissue all seasons with extended episodes unedited.

Here in Australia they were also all edited, except for Season 6 LAX and The End. Actually, all Lost Blu-ray seasons have been "deleted" and unavailable in stores in Australia for around 2 years now! Have been hoping for a reissue of the sets.

Now with the news of studios going ahead with 4K, hope Disney will go down that path. Maybe Lost will be their first TV show to debut on 4K (I think Lost was one of the their first to debut season 3 on Blu-rays)

Lost on 4K Blu-ray would be a must-buy.

It's bugged me since the Season 3 DVD set came out that they used the "syndication" cuts of the finale. I'm buying the complete season, I want it as it aired. You can do your syndicated versions on TV. I was even more bummed that I had to hang onto the DVDs when I got the complete Blu Ray set and found out they did the same hack jobs to the 1st and 2nd season finales.

I am hoping there's a 4K box set down the road that corrects this once and for all. It would be perfect to re-establish interest in the property and then do some kind of continuation like Heroes Reborn. Except I would like the new series to not suck. There's definitely further avenues to explore. The theme of parental issues can easily continue for Aaron, Walt, Ji Yeon, Clementine, etc.

I'd love to see an open world video game that lets you explore the island and hop through different time periods.

I'd rather see a comic book (er, graphic novel) company take on the license and hire the fired Lost writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach to redo the last couple seasons in graphic novel form.

He seems to have been the one who was shepherding all the best early parts of Lost - i.e. all the parts that were just thrown out and replaced with that stupid Man in Black and Man in White tangent. (Bear in mind I loved the last episode, I just hated the last couple seasons getting to the last episode).

Everyone's probably read his tale of woe already:

If he had not been fired, everything that the first few seasons set up may have been realized. We probably would have seen that the island did indeed blur the line between reality and whatever-otherworldly-place the island was - as we saw with the way it seemed to enable Walt to bring a polar bear into existence (not from a zoo, dammit!), and as we saw with Sawyer bringing his father to the island in much the same way, and as we saw with Jack seeing his father (who was not the smoke monster in disguise, give me a freaking break!), and as we saw with young Ben seeing his late mother on the island too (who again, was not the smoke monster!). We may have seen the island had been used, dangerously, by the Dharma Initiative to study its effects on unwitting students - just as it had been set up to be (a nice non-profit org with a sinister company behind it). The smoke monster would indeed have been a strange security system. Locke wouldn't have been turned into a fool and idiot. Claire wouldn't have been humiliated. The three-toed statue would have been more indication that the island was not entirely of our world, rather than just being beach front property for a guy in a tunic. I wanted quantum mechanics but what we got was a …ugh!

THAT's the LOST I want to see - and a comic book redo of the last few seasons may be the only way it will ever happen.

Exactly how I feel about it and that was really great read, though fairly long. Thanks for the link!

I think the european versions are the same in this regard.

Wow, I didn't know they weren't available anymore. I only know the US version of "The Complete Collection" has been out of print for years. How can this be the case for a show like LOST?!
I wonder when they will finally produce a "Complete Collection" set that corrects the mistakes (There are also some other things missing, unfortunately.) of the previous one! I'd be more than happy to provide a detailed list of necessary changes to TPTB!

I completely agree with you!
These issues are really frustrating for me ...
