I bought Season 3 on release at Target. Don't think I have the receipt anymore. I was hoping to contact CBS or something since I think that'd be my only chance.

I need to get a replacement disc for Disc 1. The episode 'The Survivors' has a chapter freeze on the 5th chapter and I can't skip past it. The only way to see the rest of the episode is to start at the end and rewind back. Does anyone know who I can contact for a replacement?
You can try the TNG: Season 1 replacement program contact info found here: http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=9223

The moral of this story is to never buy whacha not gonna watch right away - a mistake which manages to bite all of us in the ass from time to time.

contact CBS. I had the same problem with my TOS season 2.. the 2nd disc wouldn't even be recognized in ANY blu-ray players. I called them up. they emailed me a form to film out and I had my disc 3 days layer

While you are waiting for your replacement disc from CBS, you can try my solution to this problem:

Currently viewing TNG for the first time. I loved TOS so much I decided to blind buy the brays as they came out and honestly...was extremely disappointed in so many ways. season 2 I guess had a few decent eps with 2 or 3 that I thought were pretty excellent, but found a large majority to be mediocre at best. The final episode 14 Shades of Grey was so horrid and I came close to give up on the series all together....boy am I glad I decided to stick with it!!! Only 2 eps into S3 and I am LOVING it. Everything has improved tenfold imo. The production, the writing, performances etc etc. Love the new uniforms. The second episode 'Ensigns of Command' was even better than the first! The story was great and everything tied in together fantastically. The biggest pleasure I got was that I finally started caring about and admiring these characters; there was even a scene that finally made me understand Deanna Troi's role in the crew. I really loved these episodes and can't wait to start up the next one. Finally connecting to this series the way I did with TOS. I know this is all just rambling but Im so amped I just had to come on here and ramble. My apologizes.

RIP Trek and Best of Both Worlds director Cliff Bole.

So glad we got to preserve his thoughts in the commentary for the Best of Both Worlds Blu-ray.

+1

Glad to know that the "Bolians" were named after him.

This set is also on sale for $45.99

Most fans agree that this is where TNG really hit its stride.

Nice track w Ron Moore. This turned out to be the start of the Klingon story arcs. The bird of prey model was built by ILM, and as the FX guy says, it looks great from any angle.
