The EU will not be used to mine material for Episodes VII - IX. These rumored standalone films, however...

Meh... Don't really care much for the timeline. Fortunately it's coming from AICN and it almost surely won't happen.

IF the project was in the right hands, something good could come out of it.

Meaning, let's hope it didn't become a film directed by someone like Michael Bay or whatever.

Also, shouldn't anything that comes out of the Disney-owned Lucasfilm be considered EU? It is essentially going to be other people expanding on the universe and stories that Lucas created...

The Old Republic has more opportunity for a bigger variety of interesting stoiries imo. Its free from the skywalker clan, it predates the Sith rule of two, and its not shackled by previous continuity.

That article by at AICN has been updated. Rumor debunked.
Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

It's too risky to bet on The Old Republic era as far as movies go. It didn't work very well with the MMOG, so I assume they will leave it alone for some years. It's not a timeframe that the general audience associates with Star Wars either (i.e: metal swords), and to make it all the same (visually) so many years apart only shows lack of originality.

They will probably keep the spin-off movies in an era close to the main saga, at least in the nearby future. If all goes well, they will later expand to distant eras after having some experience with the franchise.

Agreed, but that was EA's fault. Ever since Bioware sold their souls to Satan (EA), they've gone completely down the toilet. Strict deadlines, less creative control...its a mess.

I digress. Just give me a movie (or 3) starring Revan doing a bunch of epic shit, and I will die a happy man.
Big Tits Zombie

-Action

No synopsis for Big Tits Zombie.

(don't think it needs one, fellas. Pretty self explanatory.)
