For example we don't need all the original Transformers mock cases once the replacement list contains a few Transformers replacement covers. I think that seems logical.
Ok, it looks better than i thought it would

Would you like me to do what bpmford has done and post my covers again, or would it be easier on you to just make your way through the old topic finding them as you go?

I just re-posted mine so they would all look the same and separated, then I will do that from now on. That's all!

You can if you want. I will try to make my way through the other thread hastily but no promises as to timing it is a big thread. I do intend to maintain pace with this thread as well as I can, so that the update progress for this thread will usually say complete within 1-2 pages of the final page of the thread. Also I tend to move quickly through the now archived thread so I may accidentally miss one here and there.

That Kill Bill one is epic. The archive is pretty amazing, too, it's just a shame there's no link to download some of them.

Question JPG Covers Print Weird!

Hey all,

Ok, I've got a que stion for anyone who has downloaded, printed and used any custom covers that are JPGs:

Now, I print my covers a different way by creating pdf files with cut lines on it of all the JPG covers, so I'm not sure how others get it to work.

When I just try to print a JPG cover (either on my mac with preview, or on my PC with the print wizzard that always opens to print JPGs), the program always wants to scale the image to the paper. On my mac when i change 'scale to fit page' to 'scale 100%', the cover is huge and it only prints a small fraction of the center of the cover. This I don't understand, because I formatted the cover to be the standard size, so it wouldn't make any sense that 'scale 100%' would make it so big.

And since every cover out there is a JPG, I must be doing something wrong!

How do you guys print yours and still get them to not scale so they fit?

Thanks from

I use photoshop to print, its perfect size for covers (to fit uk cases) is 27cm by 15.13

Agreed, Photoshop is the best way to print them, thats what I do as well and they come out perfect every time. A pdf is going to automatically think its an 8.5x11 paper and enlarge it. pdf is really the best for printing documents, not cover art. If its the guides you want for cutting, try printing it from illustrator, it adds the cut guides.

Actually, I already have a method that works well for me using Illustrator and creating PDFs with cut lines on them!

I just ask because I fear that the covers I've made and converted into JPG have lost their dimension data so they print much larger than I formatted. I thought this might have been an error on my part when converting my Photoshop and Illustrator covers to JPG.

I just wanted to know how someone who doesn't have Adobe prints the JPG covers they download!

If I am not doing anything wrong, then I'm happy

I downloaded your Repo cover, and tested it using photoshop to print the jpg. Your dimensions were a slight different than the norm, but otherwise it printed just fine.

I have 300, Troy, Alexander & Ben Hur in the set right now, I plan to add Kingdom of Heaven, The Messanger, Gladiator (which I already made a regular one for) and Braveheart in the matching set, even though they will be from different studios, but the format will be the same.

that is awesome news!!! i tried printing a copy of the troy one a couple of weeks ago and it came out smaller than a normal cover, i'm gonna have to play w/it, i think it's the same issue as someone posted above where it auto formats and throws the size off.

i look forward to your new ones in the future!!!

Yea, I will have to start doing mine on the norm. I print mine a bit wider (10.5") than the standard so it fits the case a bit better.

Thanks dv8 for the heads-up, I never thought that others may want the covers to be the norm size!

I was just referencing a standard that many follow, that doesn't mean your size isn't acceptable if it fits completely in the case. If its not broken, don't fix it.
