Help with a proper setup. - Blu-ray Forum

I just got some new rear speakers to replace the HTIB ones on the wall in the basement, but I have a small issue.

The wall is really just a small portion of wall that's close to the ceiling and corners off to a lower ceiling. There's also a pillar about 3/4 to the right.

I'm putting one speaker on a couple of loop brackets on the pillar portion, and hanging the other from the lower ceiling. Is this good? Will it effect the way I experience the sound?
