Sure, Jason, just keep rubbing in the GTG for those of use who couldn't make it .

I'm hoping the XDA will significantly improve 2-CH music listening in my main room with my 886. I was fine with the 886 with music until I finally moved the UMC out to the main room after all these months (working excellent, btw), and while I think the UMC only has a slight edge without upconversion, the UMC's performance with upconverted 44.1 kHz FLAC to 176.4 kHz is simply outstanding! Big Dan was right! I can otherwise only barely tell the difference with the 886 between 44.1 and 176.4 kHz. But, I miss the 886's performance in movies with Audyssey Dynamic EQ, so I'll eventually move the 886 back into the main setup to try out with the XDA. I hope the 886 analog direct is... well, direct!

I was hoping that they would have brought a XDA-1 DAC to the GTG since they do have a prototype in house from what I understand. Unfortunately they didn't. I wanted to put it head to head with my Music Hall to see how it did. I suppose soon enough I will be able to do this.

I read a blurb about that prototype not matching up with the ERC-1 cosmetically, hence the additional delay for a redesign. Anyway, that'd be a great comparison with the Music Hall, and hopefully we'll see your valued input soon enough.

We were originally planning to be near your neck of the woods for our upcoming vacation in a couple of weeks, but decided on it next year. In any case I'm not so far that I could make the effort if you guys plan anything. /hint

That was a set back for sure. Last summer at a GTG they brought an ERC-1 and I tested it against the Music Hall. It was a fun comparison. Which one was better kind of swayed between what amp and the song. The XDA-1 is supposed to be better than the ERC-1 even though it is based on the same DAC itself.

Looking good Jason. What height is the bottom of your TV? I'm planning to wall mount mine and want it high enough to have my center tweeters at the same level as my mains. The height of yours looks about what I'll need.

Thanks!! I mounted mine about 8 inches above my center. I knew I was planning on upgrading sets, or I probably would have gone about 6 inches lower to be honest.

I think I remember something about that comparison in the Lounge... I don't remember the results, however . I read Lonnie's input as well about the XDA being better than the ERC. That's why I'm hoping that after connecting the XDA to my 886, any degredation would at least make it sound as good as the UMC @ 176.4 kHz FLAC upconversion, which I will be perfectly satisfied with in order to keep the 886 in the main room since I prefer it for HT duties.

Why, awkward viewing angle or asthetics?
