Just make sure to "activate" it in your receiver Beta. Usually it will be "off". It will be in your receiver's settings menu, and should be as easy as a few clicks to set it to "on" or "active."

I can't wait for it....it's been a long 3 months looking for a good amp. I have listened to Adcom, Rotel, Parasound, Used Sunfire, B&K & NAD. Obviously there are others i can't even think of buying...

Parasound Halo series and B&K sounds good to my ears but out of my budget...XPA-5 is right there within my budget and the power ratings that I really want...

I am at the end of my quest for a good amplifier....i can't keep my excitement in control anymore...

My biggest barrier was pulling the trigger on an amp I've never heard with any speakers, let-alone my own...... I have listened to my speakers with lots of different amps, and processors...... but the "in my budget" pick that I have been able to audition was a Rotel, with Rotel Processor....... I even lugged my Marantz AVR into the store to connect it to their Rotel Amp, and I was pretty much sold..... it just never came to be though.

It was an older model 5-channel amp, for $1,000 or so.... but I can't seem to find the model number..... they seem to have a new one.... but the old one was black, and 200 watts/channel I believe......

*sigh* It's a never-ending cycle isn't it? I'm sitting here listening to Mark Knopfler's "Shangri-La" SACD, and I can't help but feel my speakers are holding me back now. I mean, I think I have a pretty good pre/pro in my Pioneer SC-05, and I know the amp is solid. I feel there's a something missing now, and the next weak link is my speakers.

It just never ends!

Is the UMC-1 still having issues? I know there was some popping going on then I read some other things about the volume not being correct?

I currently have a Pio Elite VSX-01 as my pre and Emo as my pro. Just wondering if it's worth the switch over from the Elite to the Emo.

How does the UMC's room setup software compare to MCACC from Pio?

Zman......it never ends, you are right. I love my SC-05 by the way, it is a very solid pre/pro. Guess it is time to audition some speakers then.....and find a second job to fund your sickness, because there is no cure!

It was most likely the RMB-1095.
