There seems to be quite a few FUNimation price drops on Amazon.

I noticed that, too, and took full advantage. Ordered:

Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom- $32.99
.hack// Quantum OVA - $14.99
Heaven's Lost Property Season 1 (Standard Edition) - $28.99

UGH! Just when I thought I was doing fine with not buying or spending that much out of pocket! Lol. Ah, well. My schedule gives me enough free time to watch a lot of series, so I'm going through first season of Baka and Test right now and really like it. Liked the trailer for Phantom, so might get into that one next. If RightStuf still has the Bandai sale, I'm going have to get that .hack//Sign complete series they had for $30, considering Amazon when they started sale had it for $50+ used. Hope my luck is good! Couldn't resist that price drop.

What's the difference with Heaven's Lost Property Limited & the Standard Edition?
Is it just the artbox?

It's really just the packaging, as far as comparing them to the LE's I own from Funimation.

The Standard Editions come with just the case with a slipcover, while the LE comes without slipcover, but in a nice, hard cardboard box that usually is wide enough to hold two DVD-sized (or BD-sized with how Funimation is releasing some of their new titles like Sengoku Basara and Shiki) cases. The purpose of these is to release one part (usually one 13 episode season of a 26 episode series) with the LE box and a cardboard placeholder for when the next season is released in the SE to match either your other SE release, or nestle perfectly in the cardboard slot in your LE packaging.

I generally get the LE's... but with this one being $28.99, and the LE of it being OOS on Amazon and the cheapest being nearly $60 fro ma third-party seller, I wouldn't mind the SE, especially since the second season of this series got scrapped so far to coincide with the DVD release; despite what Blu-ray.com would lead you to believe.

No problem. I noticed it's been for recent tiles like Sekirei and such, but some other ones that are complete, or older releases are either the series across two DVD-sized cases with the combo of 1 DVD-1 BD in first case, and 2 DVD-1 BD in next, or just first season in same format since most BD/DVD combo's are 3 DVDs and 2 BDs.

Thanks for the heads up, and I know I might bite myself in the ass for it later, but I think I'm fine with SE right now. Price is right, and no official date for the BD release of season 2 just yet.

In the past week I watched Phantom Blu-ray (in 2 days), Princess Jellyfish Blu-ray (in 1 day), and Sengoku Basara S2 Blu-ray (in 2 days) and would highly recommend all 3. I really like the tone and mood that Phantom set. .hack// Quantum OVA is of course amazing too.

The last sentence is an oxymoron. Sounds like it may be split into 2 parts, which is not cool at $70.00.

Hmm.. doesn't look too bad. I usually prefer dubbing on my Anime, but I don't mind if it doesn't.

Does NIS charge upon shipping or order placement? I've ordered once before, with the second volume of Katanagatari, but that was well after it's release and a while back.

I believe Occult Academy is available on Crackle if you wanted to watch it. The first episode was okay but that is all I've seen of it.

Cool, thanks! I'll check out an episode or two on Crackle (thanks for the heads up!) and then see if I want to place my order in before May.

Pretty much par for the course from them. They'll street at around $40 each and splitting it into two parts for a 26 episode season is a hell of a lot easier to take than Bandai splitting 13 episodes into *four* parts. Not to mention that the Section 23/Sentai stuff goes on sale at least a few times a year on both TRSI and Amazon.

Curious about Occult Academy. I know nothing about it but the art is appealing.
