I like Eden Of The East, haven't seen the movies yet though. I possibly might check out Gunslinger Girl and I'm going to watch Garden Of Words soon.

Same, though I only own the first season and haven't finished it. I remember being kinda sleepy when
I started it, so I'll probably give it another shot when I'm in the mood and can pay more attention. lol
Stick with it through the end of the first season. If you aren't touched by Clannad at that point, seek counseling. I strongly recommend the Japanese dub over the English dub for Clannad. After Story is really its own thing and one of the more divisive seasons in anime history.

That Sentai Filmworks' slate of releases are going to devastate my wallet.

A shame WTK doesn't post here anymore! He is a wealth of anime information!
Great guy and one of my best friends offline too...

That was going to be my next question, was it originally produced in SD?
I always hate to use the term: This is probably the best it's going to look. But I think that might apply here.
While I no longer have the dvds, I think I'll still just sit tight on this as I don't see it going out of print anytime soon. Hopefully Amazon drops their price. I was locked in at $90.99 before I cancelled my order. I'd fell a little more comfortable at the $70 price range.
Please pass on my thanks to WTK for taking the time to line up some screen shots. I, pretty much, owe a large portion of my Anime collection to that guy and the information he's provided over the year...in addition to the good folkd of this thread!

Good to see the caps. Was hoping it'd look better, but oh well. BTW, it can definitely be had in the 70s, I preordered from RightStuf during a sale and locked it in at $77. At least it's not worse than the DVDs, and I've never seen it before so hopefully it will be worth it.

I feel pretty much the same, and recently decided to not buy anything on release anymore (except for a few select titles that I'm already into like Gundam, Berserk, and Neon Genesis Evangelion) to help alleviate my backlog and save a little $ in the process.

I think I may make exceptions for Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Laggan, and Code Geass if/when they make it stateside though.

Some more details about Sentai's December titles plus some DVD releases that come out that same month as well

Quote:
North American distribution company Section 23 announced via press release on Tuesday that Sentai Filmworks has licensed the 24-episode web anime series Magical Play. The series was streamed online in 2001 and ADV Films previously licensed the series. ADV released the series as five compiled half-hour episodes on DVD 2004 and 2009. Sentai Filmworks will release the series on DVD with both English and Japanese audio tracks on December 3 for US$29.98.

The story follows Padudu, a girl trying to become a renowned magical warrior. Armed with nothing but her untested magic and a fish she uses for both clothing and food, she sets out on her quest. Traveling with her companions Pipin, Myumyu, and the mysterious Nonononn, Padudu competes with the others to collect flower marks to achieve her goal and become famous while avoiding the forces of evil Queen Purilun.

Can you guys tell me if this is a good price for Umineko: When They Cry?

Umineko: When They Cry Set 1 - $67.99 - 10% off back to school sale
Umineko: When They Cry Set 2 - $42.49 - 10% off back to school sale

Plus I can get another 10% off with the GA discount. I will have to buy a membership first but I am also planning on pre-ordering Gatchaman at $112.49 so the cost of the membership will balance out.

You're not a "sports/action anime" fan, then?

Of the titles on ADV's December list, I've watched two of them and already own three of them. ^^;
