Well, they own an international print and a regular print with their stuff. That's why you didn't see the AIP releases on the SONY DVDs, it's because Toho didn't have the rights for them. And Toho made a request at Classic Media to change the title card from Gigantis, The Fire Monster to Godzilla Raids Again.

What do you think the chances are of GODZILLA FINAL WARS getting a release in the US? I'm debating whether or not to fork out a fair bit of money to get the Japanese version to the UK...and it won't even have subs! Love the film though so, if this is all we're likely to get for the conceivable future, I'll bite the bullet.

Most likely if the US Blu-Ray will sell for the American Godzilla film. But then again, Sony would have to get permission from Toho to release them in the US. Probably in another two to five years, tops.

I look forward to Toho's Godzilla releases here on Blu, but I'm not holding my breath. I have a pretty healthy collection of the films on DVD, and had even more on VHS (including '85 and Biollante, although they were dubbed) that I can't seem to find.

Anyway, I'll be skipping Gojira on Blu. I'm not shocked at all that it looks bad, because the Classic Media DVD looks pretty damn awful. The film itself just hasn't stood the test of time physically I guess. I consider myself to be a pretty huge G-Fan, but I've just never really been able to get into Gojira itself, although I own it in a couple of formats and have seen it a few times.

I wish Toho did put English subs in, I'd probably import G v. Biollante. Final Wars is another I can pass on, I felt like that was both the worst entry in the Milennium era, as well as one of the worst entries period. Give me GMK as my first Godzilla on Blu and I'd be in heaven.

Really, because I find dubs incredibly easy to resist. I like subs, but I won't let a lack of subs keep me for these Blus.

I honestly think it's a display in Toho somewhere. Because if you look at it, both line ups of Blu-Rays are on there. Would they sell the second set or the first set for that matter before their release dates?

It's at some major store in Japan (can't remember the name). Those are empty cases sitting there for advertising purposes.
