FANTASTIC! This is a movie I have seen more than any other and it still gets to me each and every time! I still have my (almost worn out) VHS copy and the DVD.
This movie is really dear to me! John

Excellent film, and a definite buy for me.
A little worried about the quality though -- their most recent release of it had a real "patched-together from very different sources" look. Also, on DVD, the 16x9 version is just a badly cropped print of the usual 4x3 print. Still, put me down to buy it. |

Any word yet on whether they've abandoned those old wartime fears, or are they just up-dumping the previous "widescreen" version? (Still, VCI's only got one mainstream recognizable seller, but they stay in there pitching!) |

LOL, any film that is cropped from 4x3 to 16x9 is badly cropped in my book. But you know how some just can't stand having black borders on the sides of their picture.

This is hands down my favorite Christmas film of all time. Our family, there are 8 of us with 6 being married, have our Christmas on the 24th and when we are done, which is usually around 1am, I head home with my parents and we watch this great film. It has been a tradition with me and my parents for the last 25 years. That's why I love this film plus the fact that is so well done. looking forward to ordering this blu-ray.

This is my favorite version (Alastair Sim is fantastic), but something tells me it won't get the treatment it deserves. For instance, I would REALLY like a documentary on Alastair Sim, since he is so unknown especially beyond this film.

This is a truly great version but my favourite is the 1971 animated version also with Alastair Sim http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hA5T...2B70CB&index=0 still not issued on DVD. If anyone reading this thread is unfamiliar with Sim they should immediately get School For Scoundrels (1960) and The Green Man

The Alastair Sim version is by far my favourite as I said earlier, but I also like the George C. Scott one and the Henry Winkler - An American Christmas Carol.
All 3 get regular playtime during the holidays. It wouldn't be Christmas without them! John
