CASABLANCA Movie Only Due Sept. 15 - Blu-ray Forum

Warner Home Video has announced that they will release a single disc version of Casablanca on Sept. 15 at an MSRP of $28.99.

This should give us hope that if we wait long enough, we will see single disc versions of The Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind at a more reasonable price point than what is currently offered with their box sets.

Make me wonder if this is what us Red2blu customers are gonna get after being promised the Ultimate Edition for upgrade(some of us have been waiting for months for ours!)? The reason I want the UE is because I paid 9.95 for the upgarde, not the traditional single 4.95 single price. But this means that Casablanca will probably get put back on the Red2blu program as the single version at 4.95 instaed of the now defunct 9.95 for the UE a few months back.

Frankly, the Wizard of Oz set is a great deal.

Especially if you don't have the MGM: When The Lion Roared documentary.

bout time. i just got all excited cause i saw this for sale previously viewed at blockbuster w/o a price on it. i took it up to the counter for a price check & they told me $59.99. i asked them if it qualified for the 2 for 25 deal. nope. pr*cks. they mustve been smokin some pretty tasty crack selling a used blu for that price. glad to see wb finallys releasing this right. hope it dont take this long for wizard of oz...

Like I said in an earlier post, I wonder if the single version is what Red2blu cutomers will get after being promised the UE months ago?,been well over two months and STILL waiting for mine!

It isn't a great deal for the person that doesn't want all the other stuff.

Offering the big package for the folks that want that, and just the movie for the folks that want just the movie is a great deal.

I have had the UE in my Amazon wishlist for a long time. I've never seen this movie, so I couldn't justify the high cost with all of the fluff (I'm not a fan of movie extras in general).
I'm very interested in the movie only edition and will add to my wishlist as soon as it is listed.

Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind are 2 other movies that I want. I'd rather not have all the extras, but those movies (for me) are worth it...once the price comes down a little by Christmas.

I think Warner is learning that when the country is losing nearly 600,000 jobs per month, selling a movie for $65 is going to be tough.
